We are relatively new trail riding business although Bruce and Evanne the owners have been in the horse industry for a Number of years. Come for tea, biscuits and a short tour of the property before or after you ride (complimentary). If your not keen on a ride but still want to see the property please feel free to come for a visit! The buildings you see in the pictures were all handmade and crafte

d by Bruce not even a nail gun was used in the construction of these buildings. Everything has been done by hand to represent craftsmanship in the 1800s and this is what brings you a step back in time and makes us stand out from the rest. You really do have to see it to believe it!

Dear all,

I am writing to formally confirm that I have stepped away from all involvement with Shepherd Hill and any associated pages or responsibilities. As of 17th October 2025 I no longer have access to or hold any administrative roles, accounts, or credentials tied to these platforms.

This decision has been made with careful thought and mutual respect. I have also taken the time to say my goodbyes in person, and I want to express my sincere gratitude to Evanne Chesson for her warmth, wisdom, and support over time. She has been a remarkable presence, and I truly wish her and her family continued strength and focus as they move forward.

I carry no grievances, only appreciation for the time shared and the experiences gained.

Alright, let’s talk about this absolute legend of a woman. She’s 78 years old — and still working full-time on the farm. And when I say working, I don’t mean supervising from a comfy chair with a cup of tea. No, no. I mean breeding horses, training horses, chasing horses — and occasionally chasing people, too.

Most of us are looking for excuses to avoid yard work. She’s out here breaking in colts before breakfast.

You’d think after a few decades, she might slow down. But nope — she’s got more energy than most 20-year-olds, and definitely more opinions than all of them combined.

She’s tough as nails, smart as a whip, and yes — just the right amount of crazy to make life interesting.

I’m proud to be part of your life and even prouder to be standing here today. You’ve taught me so much — about resilience, hard work, and how to stay in the saddle when life bucks a little too hard.

And let’s not forget — this woman has won an AFI award. That’s right. Not just tough — award-winning tough.

You’re truly one of a kind, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Here’s to you — the wild woman of the west, and the heart of the farm.”
