After leaving Hadrian’s Wall we made our way East to Durham, my favourite city in England. With its Castle, Cathedral, cobbled streets and winding river, Durham has surprises around every corner. From there we embarked on a new walk from the seaside town of Whitby and along the high coastal cliffs to Robin Hoods Bay. This breathtaking walk will be a permanent fixture in our tour moving forward. Now we’re enjoying a relaxing 3 night stay in the ancient city of York before circling back to The Peak District and the annual Chatsworth Country Fair!

A magical couple of days walking along Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland.
Built almost 2000 years ago, Hadrian’s Wall is a ‘must visit’ destination for anyone with a love of Roman history and breathtaking walks. After covering almost 30kms of the best parts of the wall, the memories will last much longer than the aching legs! Now it’s time for some R&R at the rather fancy Ramside Hall in County Durham! Enjoy the pics 😊

We’re coming to the end of a wonderful few days here in the Lake District. The weather has been kind as we’ve enjoyed a couple of spectacular walks around Derwentwater and Lodore Falls.
Our converted barn in Applethwaite has been filled with chatter, laughter and the aromas of Jill’s fantastic cooking!
There’s a few sets of tired legs but recovery will no doubt be swift after a lazy day wandering around Keswick Markets this morning. Next stop, Hadrian’s Wall.

After 5 very special days in The Peak District where I’ve had the pleasure of sharing its many beautiful places with our fantastic bunch of ladies, it’s time to head North to The Lake District in the morning. We’ve enjoyed some magnificent walks, a lazy canal barge trip, wandered around the towns of Buxton & Castleton, all whilst being treated like family by Mark, Rose & Lucy at The Pack Horse Inn. I sometimes think that we should do this part of the tour last because it’s a tough act to follow! However, the next 4 days at our own 8 bedroom converted barn on the outskirts of Keswick will certainly be another highlight of the tour. Enjoy the pics folks 😊😊

Hidden Pathways of England, Live The Dream Travels most popular escorted tour has gotten off to a fabulous start once more. It was looking like a very wet first day but turned out perfectly for our small group of just 11 excited walkers. We meandered along 12 stunning country kilometres, broken only by a lovely pub lunch at The Little Mill Inn before returning to our accommodation in the heart of The Peak District. Slow paced & relaxed, multiple night stays, like-minded people & a good laugh are all the ingredients required for this unique walking tour of the English countryside. Here’s some pics of our first full day!
