Yesterday Jamie Wansey facilitated pre-departure student risk assessment sessions at Brisbane Boys College and St Joseph’s Gregory Terrace.

Both groups of students were excited for their upcoming rugby tours in South Africa and New Zealand respectively.

Demystifying risk assessment and helping students to think about their own safety and the safety of their mates is an important piece of the risk management jigsaw.

As we explore several real life scenarios we help students understand risks, ramifications of actions and impact on key stakeholders.

Students walk away feeling more empowered to make good decisions on tour.

Feedback from St Stanislaus College who toured through Europe with Student Horizons this Easter holidays on their History and Culture tour:

"Excellent value for money with an experienced staff member to accompany us and provide support in all aspects of the tour. Have already recommended Student Horizons to other members of our staff for future school overseas tours."

"I was very happy with the level of communication and support in preparing for the tour and whilst on tour. When problems occurred Elle and team were fantastic in managing the issue."

"Our four nation History and Culture tour was ambitious! With the help of Student Horizons we were able to successfully provide our students with the trip of a lifetime! The eye opening experiences, historical and cultural immersion together with free time to explore, afforded opportunities that will stay with them forever, benefiting their academics, life skills and future travel experiences."

"Thank you for the excellent organisation of the Europe 2025 tour. Managing a group of 56 across five countries was no easy task, yet the experience ran smoothly and professionally. Elle's leadership was outstanding ensuring safety, maintaining the schedule, and creating a calm, well-structured environment.
The itinerary was rich in cultural and historical experiences, fast paced, and engaging for students. We appreciated the balance of guided tours and exploration time, and the strong logistical coordination throughout. It was a memorable, enriching experience for all involved."
