💚 Today is World Turtle Day — and if you know me, you know turtles are my absolute favourite animal! Who else loves Turtles?? 👋

My love for the ocean and marine life runs deep. When I lived in Cairns, I volunteered at the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre, and it was one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done.
This video is from a turtle release I attended with my kids — we watched Etty the turtle return to the sea after her rehabilitation. It was emotional, beautiful, and so inspiring to see a crowd gather to support marine conservation and learn about the impact we humans have on our oceans. The rescue centre placed a tracker on top of Etty's carapace to trace her journey for research.. just in case you were wondering what the blue thing is.
🐢 These incredible creatures need our protection.
There are so many amazing places in Australia and across the world where you can swim or snorkel with sea turtles in their natural habitat.
