✈️ QANTAS JUST TOOK BUSINESS CLASS TO THE NEXT LEVEL!

Qantas has unveiled its new lie-flat Business Suites for its upcoming Airbus A321XLR aircraft - and this is a big deal for travellers!

For the first time, Qantas will offer fully lie-flat beds on a single-aisle aircraft, with the new suites featuring:

🛏️ Fully lie-flat beds, Sliding privacy doors, 1-1 seating — with direct aisle access for everyone, 19-inch entertainment screens, USB-C & wireless charging, Fast, free Wi-Fi!

When Will Travel Taxes Stop? ✈️

As a team that works in the travel industry, and as travellers ourselves, we are concerned about the proposed increase in Australia’s Passenger Movement Charge (PMC) from $70 to $80 per passenger.

At a time when airfares, fuel, airport charges and other travel costs are already putting pressure on travellers, another government charge simply makes international travel more expensive.

And let’s be clear - this isn’t just about another $10.

Higher costs can ultimately mean higher airfares, reduced services and fewer people travelling, which affects not only travellers but also airlines, travel agents, hotels, tourism operators and regional communities.

Australia needs to be making international travel more competitive and accessible, not continually adding to the cost.

✈️ Frequent Flyer Points are about to get harder to earn!

If you use a credit card to build up Qantas Points, Velocity Points or other travel rewards, there’s an important change coming from 1 October 2026.

The Reserve Bank of Australia is cutting the interchange fee cap on consumer credit cards from 0.8% to just 0.3% — and because these fees help fund credit-card rewards programs, banks are expected to respond.

That could mean fewer points for your everyday spending, smaller sign-up bonuses and tighter earning limits. 😬

The interesting part? Small-business credit cards are being treated differently, with their interchange fee cap remaining at 0.8%. This could make business cards considerably more attractive for eligible customers.

So, if you’re serious about earning points for your next holiday, it may be worth taking a closer look at the card in your wallet before October. ✈️
