Happy Vernal Equinox! 🌿

Today Japan marks Shunbun no Hi, the official arrival of spring, and for us that means one thing...the Japan ski season is drawing to a close. 😢🎿

And what a season it has been! As the days lengthen and the temperatures slowly climb, the mountains are putting on one last show, with bluebird spring snow conditions that many rate as some of the most enjoyable riding of the year.

1998 → 2026 🇯🇵⛷️

Watching the current Olympic Games has us feeling deeply natsukashii (懐かしい) – that beautiful Japanese word for nostalgia tinged with fond memories.

These photos are from Nagano 1998, where our founder worked behind the scenes for covering what would become a life-changing experience. This was her very first introduction to the magic of Japan's legendary ski regions. ⛷️🏂

What began as an Olympic assignment became lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories, and ultimately, the seed that would grow into The Snow Concierge.

From that first glimpse of Nagano's slopes to the bespoke experiences we create today, Japan's mountains have been calling us back ever since.

Our group of two dined on the spectacular fugu and crab tasting menu but there's also a wagyu option available. 🐡🦀🥩
