Christmas has begun in tears and anger at Sydney Airport.

Families were left in a last minute limbo as long-awaited trips were derailed at the final hurdle. Passengers today were turned away from pre-flight COVID tests, which meant they could not fly.

The confusion was made worse by dozens of flight cancellations as airlines and 'testing staff' struggled.

From Tuesday 21 December, fully vaccinated international passengers and air crew arriving in NSW no longer need to self-isolate for 72 hours.

International passengers are required to:

• Get a COVID-19 PCR (nose and throat swab) test within 24 hours of arrival.
• Self-isolate until you receive a negative result.
• Get tested again on day 6 after arriving in NSW. Another test is recommended on day 12.

Do not enter healthcare, disability or aged care or correctional places for at least 7 days after your arrival and until you receive a negative day 6 test result.

Police may request proof of your negative PCR test, so you should carry this at all times.

PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT – NEW AND UPDATED VENUES

NSW Health has been notified of a number of new and updated venues attended by confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Anyone who attended the Belrose Hotel, 5 Hews Parade, Belrose, at any time in December, and developed symptoms at any time in December is asked to come forward for testing and isolate until a negative result is received.

People who attended the following venues at the listed times are close contacts who must get tested immediately and isolate for 14 days regardless of the result:
- North Sydney: Cibo Café, 71 Walker St – Wednesday, 16 December, 11.30am 12.45pm. Please note that this time has been updated to cover 11.30am to 12pm.

People who attended the following venues should get tested immediately and isolate until they receive a negative result:
- Casula: Priceline Pharmacy, Casula Mall, 1 Ingham Dr – Thursday, 24 December, 6.30pm-7pm
- Casula: Coles Casula Mall, 1 Ingham Dr – Thursday, 24 December, 7pm-7.30pm
- Casula: Radio Bombay Restaurant, Casula Mall, 1 Ingham Dr – Thursday, 24 December, 7.30pm-7.50pm

People who attended the following venue are casual contacts who should monitor for symptoms and if they appear, get tested immediately and isolate until a negative result is received:
- Casula: Casula Mall, 1 Ingham Dr – Thursday, 24 December, 6.30pm-8pm
