Yesterday morning as we looked over Sydney Harbour, discussing the 1942 attack on Sydney by Japanese midget subs, this small sub popped up. I don't think I've ever seen one openly roaming the harbour before? I hope it was one of ours 🙂

I've become very fond of this piece of sculpture over the past few months. I've watched it become a little destination in its own right. Hoping it won't really disappear in April. It owns this place now. Its removal would be a loss to the MCA, the city and our walking tours🙂. Hundreds of guests from around the world have expressed a great affection for her. She owns this lawn now.

Beautiful night of tunes and pure Irish humanity at the Astor in Perth. Was transported to the truly carefree times of the early 1990s. Astonishing to consider how those years of optimism unravelled. Incredible how well the music of the Hothouse Flowers captured those optimistic years. They're in Sydney this week. Great show!

The Lands Department Building has been uncovered after years of renovation. Looks fabulous as ever - now part of the Capella Hotel along with the Education Department building across the road. The cast of colonial blokes occupying the niches deserves it own walking tour. The presence of Joseph Banks especially interesting.
