New photos show the structural frame of an ancient wooden shipwreck fully emerging from the sands along the coast of Da Nang in central Vietnam, more than two years after it was first spotted in the area.

This is a French style male urinal in HCM City (Sai Gon) in the old days - 1950s? - It was located in front of the Municipal Theatre which in those days was the House of Representative of the southern regime. In the background there is the Dept of Information - it's now the Louis Vuitton building - and to the left of the photo is the Caravelle Hotel which from about 1956 was the location for the Australian Embassy in Sai Gon.

Here's the Eastern Gate to the Hà Nội Citadel, first as it was in the late 19th century and as it is today. The French attacked this gate to gain entry to the Citadel, blasting it with cannon fire and destroying either side of the main gate. These days the water hole in front of the gate has gone and a major road sits where it was.
