Making new Aussie friends… one handful at a time 🦘💛

There’s something pretty special about standing in the middle of a mob of wallabies, hand-feeding them as they hop right up like they’ve known you forever. Gentle, curious, and just a little bit cheeky… this is the kind of moment people don’t expect, and never forget.

And for families, it’s even better. These little wallabies are calm, friendly, and safe for toddlers to feed and interact with, which means even the tiniest travellers get to be part of the magic.

BREAKING: Blue Mountains undergo rare colour shift overnight

Visitors this morning were met with an unexpected sight… the iconic Blue Mountains appearing with a distinct pink hue across the escarpment, including the Three Sisters.
Experts are pointing to a rare combination of atmospheric conditions, where fine eucalyptus oil particles released from the forest have interacted with low-angle sunlight and increased humidity, creating a temporary refractive effect. Under the right conditions, this can shift the usual blue haze into warmer tones… and today, that meant pink.

Local guides say it’s one of those fleeting, once-in-a-while moments that depends on light, timing, and just a little bit of magic in the air.

“We were recommended this tour by our hotel, the Shangri-La Sydney. We were picked up bang on time by Jed, who made the trip a lot of fun.

Sadly, the weather was not on our side, with poor visibility and plenty of rain. But Jed managed to find a spot later in the day where the clouds lifted and we could see the beauty and enormity of the rainforest.

I would certainly recommend FJ Tours.”

We like to start the day up close… very close 🐧✨

The penguins at Featherdale don’t do personal space. They waddle right up, fluff their feathers, and give you that curious little stare… like you’re the one on display. And yes, you’re close enough to hear them chatter, watch every splash… and maybe catch a hint of that very authentic, slightly funky fishy breath 😄

If you’ve got tweens… this is where the day goes from “nice” to “best day ever” 🎢🌿

Scenic World Blue Mountains is packed with the kind of stuff they actually get excited about. The world’s steepest railway that feels like a rollercoaster. The skyway gliding high above the valley (yes, there’s a glass floor 👀). The cableway views that make even the too-cool-for-photos crowd stop and stare.

Down in the rainforest, it’s all boardwalks, towering trees, and that wild, Jurassic kind of energy where they can explore, wander, and burn off some energy without even realising it.

It’s fun, it’s a little bit thrilling, and it’s the kind of place where kids, tweens, and parents are all equally into it… which is saying something 💚
