⭐ INDIGENOUS VETERANS COMMEMORATION SERVICE ⭐

During National Reconciliation Week, a number of our students proudly represented the College at the Indigenous Veterans Commemoration Service, held at the Anzac Memorial in Hyde Park.

This annual service honours the service and stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander veterans, recognising their courage, sacrifice, and contribution to our nation.

As we continue to reflect on the importance of reconciliation, we acknowledge the strength and dignity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who have served our country.

Thank you to our students for representing the College so respectfully, and to Mr Searle and Ms Scarcella for accompanying and supporting our students throughout the day.

⭐ 2026 SECONDARY SCHOOL LEADERS RECEPTION ⭐

Recently, our College Captains Ollie and Lucas were invited by Mayor Clr Todd Carney, to attend the Penrith City Council Secondary School Leaders Civic Reception, where they were formally commended alongside student leaders from across the region. The event recognises the leadership, service and positive contribution of students within their school communities.

The evening acknowledged the positive impact young leaders have within their schools and provided an opportunity to celebrate the dedication, responsibility and commitment they show each day.

Congratulations to Ollie and Lucas on this recognition. We are incredibly proud of the way they represent our College with integrity, humility and leadership.

💪 YEAR 11 & 12 HEALTH AND MOVEMENT SCIENCE STUDENT ENRICHMENT DAY 🧠

Our Year 11 and 12 Health and Movement Science students recently attended an educational excursion to the Blacktown Exercise Sports and Technology (BEST) Hub, a state-of-the-art facility co-designed by Australian Catholic University and Blacktown City Council. 🏃‍♂️

Students had the opportunity to step beyond the classroom and engage in hands-on learning within specialist facilities, exploring key areas including exercise physiology, biomechanics, and strength and conditioning.

The experience provided valuable insight into real-world applications of health and sports science, supporting students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills and a deeper understanding of health and movement in action.

A fantastic opportunity for our students to connect learning with industry practice and future pathways.

⭐ THE ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER SENIOR STUDENTS FORUM ⭐

Recently, a number of our senior students attended the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Senior Students Forum, an important opportunity focused on supporting students as they prepare for life beyond school.

Throughout the day, students heard from guest speakers, community leaders and representatives from universities, TAFEs and employment organisations, gaining valuable insight into future pathways, further education and career opportunities.

The forum also celebrated culture, identity and community, encouraging students to take pride in who they are while building confidence in their future aspirations.

A special thank you to Mr Searle for accompanying and supporting our students throughout the day.

⭐ 2027 STUDENT LEADERS ⭐

We are delighted to share the appointment of our College Captains and Vice Captains for 2027.

Congratulations to Tiana F and Zac R, our 2027 College Captains, and to Alexis Z and Thomas R, our 2027 College Vice Captains.

Each of these students has shown a genuine commitment to our community and a deep alignment with the values we cherish at Penola - compassion, integrity, courage and hope. Their leadership reflects not only their abilities, but the character and spirit they bring to our College.

As they take on these important roles, we pray that they are guided by wisdom and gentleness,
that they lead with generosity and purpose,
and that they continue to act with justice, kindness and respect in all they do.

May the Gospel shape their vision, may the Spirit strengthen their resolve,
and may our Penola Catholic College community walk beside them throughout the year ahead.

Congratulations to our 2027 College Leaders. We look forward to the journey ahead with pride, gratitude and hope.
