Top day out wide in 120m depth.
Our first trip to the Long Fin Perch grounds proved a success.

9 Long Fin Perch, 8 Snapper and an assortment of tasty and very colourful reef species.
Well done to the customers.

Long Finned Perch are a colourful and sensational table fish. Normally found in deeper reef structures in the cooler months of the year.

A short 4 hour afternoon charter produced some nice fish.
This was our biggest Snapper of the day at 59cm.

Well done to the young man with great enthusiasm.

What a cracker of a day!

Heading out to 100m depth range today proved a good decision.

With an esky full of big snapper, our biggest hitting 58cm.

Top day and well done to the crew and customers.

Happy Sunday!!
A very beautiful sunrise to start our day fishing and a great shot of our boat heading out to what was an exciting days fishing.

Today’s haul was over 50 keepers and all quality table fish.

I treated myself to a day with Capns Charters Newcastle today. Andrew Lowey my captain was an outstanding fishing guide.

Put me onto 3 legal sized Jew Fish and a managed to catch total 7 Jewies and a heap of nice dusky Flathead and Tailor.

I’m definitely no master of fishing soft plastic but a day with Lowey has fined tuned my skills.

Hopefully I can transition my skills to Sydney Harbour and Georges River.

A good mixed bag of assorted reef fish.

The Teraglin are starting to fire up.
Seeing more on a daily basis and they’re getting bigger.

Related to Mulloway (Jewfish) Teraglin or Trag for short are a common species inhabiting Sydney’s coastal waters.

Often mistaken for Mulloway for their similar appearance, they fight just as hard and taste just as good in my opinion.

Legal size in NSW is 38cm but they commonly get caught between 55cm-80cm in the Sydney area.

They are a schooling species so not uncommon to catch multiple fish at a time.
Small strip squid, pilchards, lures, jigs and kogha lures all work well to catch them.

Ranging in depths between 30m-80m and they love hanging around reef structures especially where bait or sweep are around.
