Just a short boat ride from Korčula lies Badija — a tiny island with a centuries-old Franciscan monastery, pine trees, quiet paths and the sea never more than a few steps away.

Come for a walk. Stay for a swim. Sit in the shade. Listen to the silence. There is no need to rush anywhere.

This is one of the places I love sharing with visitors — not because it is something to tick off a list, but because it gives you a little glimpse of how we live here.

I’m excited to introduce a new part of Wise Journeys — Wise Language Journeys.

Through Wise Language Journeys, I offer small, relaxed Croatian language groups for expats in Korčula who want to communicate more naturally and feel more connected to everyday life.
We learn through real situations — conversation over coffee, local markets, walks, food, traditions and the language people actually use.

🐾 Take home a little piece of Korčula. 🇭🇷

If you’re visiting our beautiful island with children or grandchildren, I have something special for you.

Fred’s Adventures is a bilingual children’s book (Croatian & English) inspired by Korčula and the adventures of my little Shih Tzu, Fred.

Together with the Korčula Colouring Book, it becomes a lovely keepsake that children can enjoy long after their holiday has ended.

What makes it even more special? 💙
📚 The book has been presented in local primary schools and the Korčula City Library.
🎨 The illustrations were created by children from Korčula Primary School.

One of the things visitors don’t always realise about Korčula is that this is a real Mediterranean island.

We have beautiful hidden bays, tiny villages, olive groves, vineyards and some truly spectacular coastal roads.

Some sections of the roads are narrow and winding, occasionally with dramatic views down to the sea below. They are perfectly normal island roads and part of what makes this landscape so special.

Private tours here are not Los Angeles freeways, wide motorways or city boulevards. They are slow journeys through nature, villages, viewpoints and hidden corners of the island.

If you experience motion sickness or have mobility concerns, please let me know before booking so that we can adapt the day together.

The beauty of Korčula often lies just around the next bend. 💚

A beautiful new cultural space has opened on the enchanting islet of Vrnik near Korčula.

The opening of the Historical, Cultural and Educational Park on Vrnik celebrates the island’s extraordinary heritage, centuries-old stone masonry tradition and deep connection to the Adriatic way of life.

Surrounded by crystal-clear sea, old stone houses and the silence of Mediterranean nature, Vrnik is one of those rare places that still feels authentic, timeless and deeply connected to its history. 🌿
