The "hells" of Beppu are a must visit on any trip to Kyushu!

Known as the Beppu Jigoku (meaning Hells), these pools of various colours and minerals are for seeing - not swimming. Steam bellows into the air at the blue Umi-Jigoku pool whilst mud bubbles away in the Oniishibozu-Jigoku.
