Ruby Travels Worlwide to Krakow, Poland to explore this beautiful historical city.
My travels and my photographic journey.
Kraków, a southern Poland city near the border of the Czech Republic, is known for its well-preserved medieval core and Jewish quarter. Its old town – ringed by Planty Park and remnants of the city’s medieval walls – is centered on the stately, expansive Rynek Glówny (market square). This plaza is the site of the Cloth Hall, a Renaissance-era trading outpost, and St. Mary’s Basilica, a 14th-century Gothic church.

Our 2 night stopover In Warsaw. This is the Cosmos Central Europe Tour.
A very beautiful city, with lots of green spaces for its citizens.
Warsaw, officially the Capital City of Warsaw, is the capital and largest city of Poland. The metropolis stands on the River Vistula in east-central Poland.

During the Warsaw Uprising in August 1944, more than 85% of Warsaw's historic centre was destroyed by N**i troops. After the war, a five-year reconstruction campaign by its citizens resulted in today's meticulous restoration of the Old Town, with its churches, palaces and market-place. It is an outstanding example of a near-total reconstruction of a span of history covering the 13th to the 20th century.

An East Side Gallery visit while in Berlin is a must. This was a very special moment.

East Side Gallery
Once it was the Berlin Wall. Now it’s the longest open-air gallery in the world.

At 1316 metres long, the open-air art gallery on the banks of the Spree in Friedrichshain is the longest continuous section of the Berlin Wall still in existence. Immediately after the wall came down on 9 November 1989, 118 artists from 21 countries began painting the East Side Gallery, and it officially opened as an open air gallery on 28 September 1990. Just over a year later, it was given protected memorial status.

Berlin, Germany’s capital, dates to the 13th century. Reminders of the city's turbulent 20th-century history include its Holocaust memorial and the Berlin Wall's graffitied remains. Divided during the Cold War, its 18th-century Brandenburg Gate has become a symbol of reunification. The city's also known for its art scene and modern landmarks like the gold-colored, swoop-roofed Berliner Philharmonie, built in 1963.

This afternoon we did a leisurely walk around Nice’s Old Town (Vieux Nice) which remains the buzzing heart the modern French city. Here are my photos of our walkabout.

Sainte-Réparate Cathedral is a place of prayer for the people of Nice as well as a tourist highlight not to be missed in the heart of the city of Nice. It was registered as a Historic Monument in 1906. It was also raised to the rank of Minor Basilica in 1949, the same as the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
