⛵ Wind Shift is on the move in the South Pacific! 🌊
The crew has left Opua, New Zealand, and is currently on passage to sunny Tonga. But first, a very special pit stop: the remote and beautiful Minerva Reefs (Ongo Teleki). 📍
Sitting roughly 800 miles north of New Zealand and 300 miles southwest of Tonga, these two submerged atolls are a sailor's oasis. After battling some big seas leaving NZ, the anticipation on board is high! The reefs will provide excellent shelter from the ocean swell, giving everyone a well-deserved break.
It won't just be rest and relaxation, though. While anchored at the reef, the crew will be:
🔬 Continuing our important plastics research
🏊‍♂️ Swimming and snorkeling with turtles, giant clams, and reef sharks
🦪 Walking the unique reef at low tide
After a few days of recharging and researching in this South Pacific paradise, Wind Shift will pull up anchor and make the final leg to Tonga.
