Do you recognise this place? 👀

This is Wharariki Beach in New Zealand, the famous spot behind one of the iconic Windows lock screen photos 😍

Tucked away at the very top of the South Island near Golden Bay, it’s known for its wild coastline, massive sand dunes, and dramatic rock formations sitting out in the ocean.

If you’re road tripping from Christchurch 🚐
It’s around a 7–8 hour drive through some of the most beautiful scenery in the country, passing through places like Kaikōura, Picton, Nelson and Abel Tasman along the way.

A self-contained campervan has a fixed toilet and water systems, allowing you to stay off-grid without needing campsite facilities.

Why does it matter? 👀
Most freedom camping spots in New Zealand now require vehicles to be certified self-contained.

Meet the Kea 🦜🇳🇿 New Zealand’s cheekiest alpine parrot.

Known for their intelligence and curiosity, Keas are famous for opening bags, pulling at rubber seals and investigating literally everything with their beaks.

You’ll mostly spot them in the South Island alpine regions around:
🏔️ Arthur’s Pass
🏔️ Milford Sound
🏔️ Mount Cook
🏔️ The Remarkables & Queenstown area

Fun fact: the bright orange feathers under their wings are usually hidden until they fly ✨
