A long day today for Wayne, Ryan and the FSA team. They left Ioribawa this morning with a challenging ascent to Ioribawa Ridge, offering panoramic views and a sense of solemn reflection. A sharp descent into the dense rainforest, numerous river crossings, slippery muddy trails and one long final climb opens up to the picturesque village of Nauro, home for the night. Hopefully everyone will have cameras ready in the morning for one of the most photographed areas on the track.

Ryan, Wayne and the FSA team had their first full day on the track. A little leg weary, they will be feeling good about all the training they had put in prior to starting their adventure. All now safely in camp, they will be hearing about the stories of battle and preparing to climb to the top of the Ridge tomorrow, the furtherest point reached by the Japanese.

Gresham and the July 27 team have finished the track! They are now at our River Camp in Kokoda with John and Alice, having dinner. A strange feeling in the air... excited at what has been achieved but sad that it is finished. New friendships made, stories to be told for years.
