The Cathedral Cave’s towering chambers and dramatic limestone formations were shaped by nature over millions of years, creating the spectacular natural wonder you know and love today! 🌿⛰️❤️

Long before Capricorn Caves, there was Olsens Caves. And Nedra Purnell (née Olsen) was part of that story, helping her father run tours here as a child in the 60s.

Today, Nedra and her partner Colin returned to the caves, bringing with them a very special piece of family history: the folding pump organ once used inside the Cathedral cave during the mid-20th century to accompany singers at special events.

As her memories came flooding back, she reflected on how much the caves have changed since her childhood, sharing stories of what life was like here when it was still known as Olsens Caves.

Thanks to Nedra’s generous donation, this beautiful piece of history has found its way home. You can find this treasured piece of history on display in the bay window at our kiosk, alongside other fascinating artefacts from Capricorn Caves’ past. 🤎
