🍻𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰?

Toodyay once had more pubs than it does today. While Toodyay currently has two active pubs, the town was once home to at least three licensed hotels operating in the historic town centre.

🍺The first was the 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 (1861), which later became the 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 and is now 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐜 𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐲𝐚𝐲.

🍺A second 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 opened in 1862 after the initial 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 let their liquor license lapse. The building is now known as the 𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐲𝐚𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐫.

🍺Later, the 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥, built in 1888, joined them on Stirling Terrace.

These hotels weren't just places to enjoy a drink. They were community hubs, hosting meetings, social events, places for travellers, and even providing water to residents during dry periods.
