Day 3 of the Tenterfield - Banjo Patterson Tour completed!
Last night we attended Banjo The Musical, a fantastic show and great to watch it in the historic School of the arts theatre. A credit to the Tenterfield Council in getting the production to town..

Today we started off by visiting Kim at her stunning garden The Bungalow & Ivy Leaf Chapel B&B, it’s a credit to Kim and what’s she’s achieved at her garden, the group thoroughly enjoy walking through the garden with Kim and hearing about the various trees and shrubs she has there along with the Ivy Chapel which is used for many local weddings. It was a very pleasant start to the day enjoying home made scones, cakes and sausage rolls in the garden setting..
Next stop was a guided tour by the new owners of Stannum House, this is a must do if you get the opportunity. Australia is blessed to have people like Wendy and Bruce who take on these old historic buildings and restore them back to their former glory!
Working our way back along the Mt Lindsay Hwy we had arranged for a tour and lunch at the relatively new Quoll Headquarters, welcomed by Steve and Bianca they showed us around the various enclosures they have along with various wallabies and possums that they’ve rescued and will look after until they can release them into their 400 acre fully fenced sanctuary.
Final stop was some wine tasting and a couple of cheese boards at Balancing Rock Winery.
Overall a fantastic 3 day getaway!
Thanks again must go to both Kim and Bronwyn from the Tenterfield Council for helping put this tour together and Yulia from The Commercial Boutique Hotel for looking after our accomodation needs, perfect spot..
Tenterfield Autumn Festival

Almost the end of day 2 on our 3 day Tenterfield tour. Still have the Banjo Patterson play tonight at the School of the arts theatre to go.

Had a great day today visiting the look out at Mount Mackenzie, short town tour with Kay, the local historian, lunch at the Parrots nest cafe and a guided tour of Behind the hedge garden with the owner, Peter.
After the wind coming down yesterday, it turned out to be a warm day with no wind at all, just a brisk start at approx 6 degrees..
Tomorrow after breakfast we have a guided tour of the old Stannum house, a guided tour of the Ivy chapel garden with owner Kim then a tour and lunch of the Quoll Headquarters with owner operator Steve and to finish the day off a relaxing wine at Balancing heart winery before heading home.

For all those that have travelled to The Cape with us over the last few years, here are two pictures of the Archer River Bridge.
The second, (picture thanks To The Cape York And Back Information) was taken today. 😮 Cyclone Narelle has dumped huge volumes of rain in such a short amount of time.
I heard a whisper that the bridge is covered completely now.

We're excited to be heading down to spend a few days in Tenterfield for this weekend. We'll be closing bookings for this tour Wednesday afternoon. Accommodation is at the Commercial Boutique Hotel in the main street and we've included garden visits, guided town town tour, entry to Stannum House, the festival markets, Cobb and Co rides and a visit to the Quoll Headquarters plus a few good back roads to get there and back!
