Congratulations to all at Lockyer Chamber of Commerce for a fabulous August Business Breakfast featuring guest speaker, futurist and demographer Bernard Salt.

A great discussion on food security, changing demographics and tastes as well as (we believe) the rise of agritourism!

Queensland wine on show last night at Queensland Tourism Industry Council - QTIC Tourism in the House!

Almost 300 members and industry leaders gathered on the green at Queensland Parliament house for a great evening of conversation and connection.

Well done to Adam and the Queensland Wine Industry Association for showcasing the region’s finest. 🍷

Get ready - Round Two of Homegrown, Queensland's Destination Events Fund, is now open for events held between April 2027 and June 2028.

Delivered by Tourism and Events Queensland, Homegrown connects events with the destinations they call home, spreading the benefits right across the state. It's already backed more than 1,000 events with over $25 million in funding, and this round has been refreshed to align with Destination 2045: Delivering Queensland's Tourism Future.

What's new this round?
✅ Increased funding for Destination Signature Events — up to $40,000 per year (up from $25,000)
✅ New multi-year funding options
✅ Two brand-new streams: Destination Indigenous Events and Destination Kickstarter Events, for events just getting off the ground

Thinking of applying?

Book a discussion with the Homegrown team first to talk through eligibility, funding streams and application requirements.

Round 2 of the Regional Tourism Infrastructure Fund (RTIF) is closes soon.

Grants of up to $300,000 are available to support tourism infrastructure projects across regional Queensland, helping attract more visitors, encourage longer stays and boost visitor spending in communities outside South East Queensland.

The program supports projects such as new tourism attractions, eco-lodges and glamping experiences, agritourism ventures, ecotourism experiences, and stargazing and dark sky tourism projects.

Applications close Wednesday 9 September 2026. Successful recipients will be announced in November 2026

Congratulations to Roslyn and Pat from Cumquats Australia on the recent opening of their new Farm Shop & Distillery in Somerset Region. 🍊

Our CEO visited the farm yesterday to discuss product development, marketing and advocacy as well as exploring opportunities for Asian markets, as cumquats translates roughly to “golden orange” and is traditionally associated with good luck, prosperity and wealth across parts of Asia.
