Queensland in Full Throttle!
We kicked things off in Surfers Paradise, where the Gold Coast skyline buzzes with energy and golden beaches stretched forever. Cavill Avenue pulsed with holiday freedom, surfboards lined the sand, and the vibe was pure fun.
Fuel came first — at Matsuzaka Teppanyaki Chevron where chefs turned dinner into theatre. Wagyu sizzling, prawns flying, knives flashing, lanterns glowing. Laughter echoed louder than the clink of chopsticks, and the food was as much a show as a meal. Surfers gave us both the buzz and the feast.
With stomachs full and spirits high, we rolled straight into chrome and rivalry at the Brisbane Motor Museum Here, the eternal Aussie showdown — Ford vs Holden — gleamed under the lights. Monaros, Toranas, Falcons, and GTs lined up like gladiators, polished to perfection, daring us to pick a side. “Are you red or are you blue?” the exhibit asked, and we grinned, knowing the rivalry is half the fun.
The road then pulled us north to Yandina, where The Ginger Factory wrapped us in whimsy. Jack and Jaren climbed aboard the Overboard Boat Ride, sailing past puppets and playful gingerbread scenes. Moreton the Ginger Train chugged through lush gardens, while rainbow umbrellas overhead turned pathways into kaleidoscopes. Between ginger tastings, bee shows, and gelato at Gingerlatis, it was part fairytale, part flavour fest.
Right across the road, Nutworks and the Chocolate Factory kept the fun rolling. Macadamias in every form — roasted, chocolate-coated, chilli-salted — filled the shelves, while cheeky cutouts proved we were just as nutty as the displays. It was laughter, local flavour, and the perfect encore to ginger.
And then came the adrenaline at Dreamworld Australia threw us into chaos with the Steel Taipan, blasting forward, backwards, and upside down at fang-fast speeds. The Motocoaster strapped us onto life-size racing bikes, fists raised in mock battle, riding the rush with nothing but speed and smiles. It was thrill, chaos, and pure fun — the kind of rides that leave your stomach behind but your grin firmly in place
