The Jurs Pro-Am Tournament
Who says we can't be a little competitive? As usual, Karen's showing us how it's really done, while the rest of us amateurs try our best to keep up!
Myself and the boys teed off with fire in our eyes, ensuring we were driving for the green and doing our best to chip away at Karen's lead. But as the sun set on the 18th, Karen the seasoned pro proved she still had it, sinking putts and making the tough shots look easy.
As we wrapped up and made our way to the 19th to finalise our scorecards we decided that the game of Golf had won the day. 😉
Looking ahead we will be doing a lot more Golf days and not just belting balls down the driving range, and adding different courses to play on our adventures so working out how to pack 4 sets of clubs is joel's next packing challenge.
Well that's a wrap on our big October Adventure that we wanted to share. A lot more was done but a lot was family orientated.

The Great Race!
Took the opportunity this year to adventure to the mountain to watch the one of the biggest motorsport races Australia has to offer. Some, as titled would call it The Great Race!
Many years of watching it on the telly, i knew this year would be a great time to see it live. So loaded up with all the passes and joined by a good mate, we made it a complete Bathurst 1000 weekend.
Saturday was scoping out some of the spots to catch the action for Sunday whilst being entertained by supporting categories and mixing it up with other Supercars supporters. Sunday loaded up with yesterday's knowledge we hit the ground for a full day of motorsport, starting off on the inside of turn One for the start then making our way around the track to those known corners that give the best action.
With only a few puckering moments for some of the teams throughout the day this offered us the best day to be able to get into spots and watch the drivers lap after lap consistently display their trade.
A sensational adventure and one to do again, so it doesn't get ticket off the list, but puts more motorsport on the to do list moving forward

Get to the Zoo!
Had this adventure on the plans for the last two years and this time we picked a great day to go to National Zoo & Aquarium Canberra
The National Zoo and Aquarium is a privately owned 19-hectare zoo and aquarium in the Australian capital city of Canberra. Located at the western end of Lake Burley Griffin. The zoo has great exhibits of big cats, rhino, giraffes, aquarium and much more.
Give yourself plenty of time to get around the zoo as you will be spinning the hands of the clock quickly while gazing into each exhibit, we took most of the day which allowed us to see the so much activity.
They offer some great experience such as Owl encounters, Meet a Meerkat, Awesome Roarsome Tour and you have the ability to book accomodation that has private windows into certain exhibits, check out their website for more detail.

Floriade!
Canberra every year puts on this awesome outdoor adventure called Floriade, which is Australia’s Biggest Celebration of Spring
Floriade was first held in Canberra in 1988, as a one-off celebration of Canberra’s 75th birthday and to mark the Bicentenary of European settlement. It was the brainchild of landscape designer Christiaan Slotemaker De Bruine, who was inspired by the world-renowned Keukenhof gardens in The Netherlands.
It's a sensational adventure with plenty of event participants, our favourite was Underground Spirits and their awesome gin garden serving up some amazing cocktails made with their Lady Floriade Gin

The Month of October!
October this year was a big one for us, a lot took place and we will show it here.
Starting off with Joel hitting the Big Four Zero!
Yep, que the knee and back pain. Waking up confused and dazed and all those getting old stereotypes hahaha.
Thank you to all the friends and family that could attend the old boys birthday celebrations. Only posting a couple of photos but was great night.

Father's Day Weekend Adventures!
We popped down to Alva Beach Tourist Park late friday afternoon to begin a relaxing Father's day weekend. Usual sight was picked and the simple swag setup was put together in no time, ready for a Gin in hand and some cheese and crackers.
With the weather turning it on all weekend, we made each days low tide a thing and hit the beach for some driving lessons, fishing and lounging around until it was time to head back to do the same at the park.
Top weekend away and many more to come.

Took a walk to Batman’s house
We adventured out to Yarrangobilly Caves which are about 115km out from Cooma on the Snowy Mountain Highway.
There are six limestone caves open to the public, within the Yarrangobilly area of the northern Kosciuszko National Park. We did the self-guided tour of the South Glory Cave.
We decided to take the long walk from the Visitor Centre past the thermal pools and along the river which brings you up onto the Glory Arch, with its impressive opening to the sky. Shorter 500m walk from the Glory Caves carpark is also available.
The Caves path is 470m long, with 206 steps and several ramps. It has a grade listing of Medium and is suitable for all ages, but moderate fitness required. Unfortunately, it is not wheelchair accessible.
Being a self-guided tour, you can explore the cave at your own pace and really experience the white formations of the Chambers, aka ‘Lamb’s Fleece’ and ‘Judge’s Wig’, which I got from the great signage along the path. they have placed lights on sensors so that when you enter each area it highlights the formations making them more spectacular.

The temperature is what? I don’t think I have enough jackets.
Karen and the lads swapped 24 degree days for -2 degree days as we took our first adventure to the snow.
This adventure is the first time the whole family was experiencing something for the first time, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Since none of us had ever skied before we decided to get some lessons on our first day and oh-boy those lessons where a little random on their delivery from our ski coach, but hey “Bend like a banana” and “pivot on the ball”
So, with our lessons done we all met back up to ski our first run together, which turned out exactly as you can imagine. Over the day we all got better as we figured it out and had a great time.
The weather was great each time we visited the snow, blue skies with sporadic dustings of snow and clouds rolling across the mountains which I think made the “Snow experience” that little more special for the first timers.

To the island for a long weekend!.. Oh and maybe someone's birthday.
Hopped across to Magnetic Island to have a staycation and celebrate another lap around the sun for karen.
Enjoyed a splendid tour with Magnetic Island Time Cruises, on our first day packed with fishing, snorkeling at some great coral reefs surrounded by some huge fish, island facts and good laughs in-between. The fishing contest for the weekend started with Jack for two, Joel for two and Karen for one. Jaren was almost dragged into the pacific by a big ol' stingray once we got back to shore but all he got for his troubles was a bent hook.
We met up with friends for dinner at Aqua in Arcadia Magnetic Island to celebrate another 30th for Karen and we all had our expectations completely shattered by how sensational the food was. Everything ordered was gourmet by a factor of 10. Definitely add to your to-do list.
On the way home the tide was on the way up or down... both expert fisherman couldn't decide, however had to finish of the weekend with one last flick of a lure before getting home and chomping down on lovely cake from Cakes On Carthew

Lets Go Racing!
Adrenaline packed adventure to close out our Christmas and New Year holidays spent at Power Kart Raceway.
Karen managed the pits as the wanna be racing drivers battled it out on the track to see who is the karting master. Lap after lap had some intense on track battles between the lads but only one could be crowned champion.
Who was the champion you say?... Family fun was crowned champion for the day.... hahaha nope, Joel won all the races. The closest kid was over a second away. Hahaha in all seriousness, absolutely chuffed with the boys they actually put out their elbows and made you work for the overtake and showed full commitment into all the corners.

Driving range then a night of bowling
The day started of brilliantly with warm weather with partially cloud covered sky, so what better way to to spend it then an adventure to the Canberra International Golf Centre. A bucket of balls each and the competition was on for who could hit the furthest, closest to the 75 and 100. The family golf pro had some competition this time as the lads have been practising.
The night turned into more family competition as we adventured off to Kingpin to see who could strike it lucky. Some used the bumpers as gutter balls apparently are not a thing, whilst the self acclaimed bowling master embarrassed everyone with pre-blowing warm up routine all while being closer to 300 than the rest.
