Tomorrow marks my last day in travel, after just over 20 years in the industry.

From a fresh-faced 21 year old working on cruise ships in 2001, to completing a Bachelor of Business in Tourism, to 13 years with Flight Centre and 5 years in partnership with TravelManagers Australia.

I have made the most wonderful friends in the industry, and enjoyed creating amazing holidays for my clients. I am very thankful that I was able to work from home while my children were young and the support from friends, family and my clients has been incredible over the years.

12 months ago I was offered a role as Sales Consultant with Jellis Craig Woodend & Castlemaine which has lead me in a new direction for the future. I am so pleased to be able to assist people in journeys of a different kind, from buying their first home, investment property, upsizing, downsizing and everything in between.

I wanted to share some very exciting news with you all!

Last weekend, my partner Anthony asked me to marry him while we were on the site of our future house and I happily said YES!

We will marry next year surrounded by our children, family and friends on the very same spot once our house is finished.

In other fantastic news, domestic travel bookings are starting to come through. If you need to travel interstate to see family or to take a much needed holiday, please think of me to assist you. 2021 is certainly looking like it will be a great year!

This weekend would have been our annual TravelManagers conference, planned for Hamilton Island and was sadly cancelled. Here are some inspiration photos of this beautiful part of Australia. Would love to feel some warm sun, sand between my toes, and sip a cocktail. Cannot wait to travel again!

I was recently featured in a beautiful photographic series by Trentham photographer

Today's “Life in The Time of Corona Virus” photo features Leanne and her children Aidan and Morgan. Leanne is a home-based Travel Agent. Her industry is one of the hardest hit due to the pandemic. “I’ve spent the last six months cancelling 12 months’ worth of work. Overnight my entire income disappeared. I’m thankful that I live in Australia and can access Job Keeper to cover our living expenses. When you are a single parent household and have a mortgage and bills its hard to make ends meet. I’m confident things will bounce back eventually, I’m lucky I haven’t got employees or rent to pay.

When the virus first hit, I worked frantically around the clock to help clients get home from around the world, sometimes working through the night. The hardest thing is that there is no end date. We don’t know when we can travel again. The travel industry will be the last to recover.

Now that cancellations are under control, I’ve been continuing my house renovations, painting, building garden paths and beds. I’ve enjoyed spending more time with the kids and less time rushing around.”

Morgan’s been learning to ride her big bike and spending time with friends and family on Facetime. Aidan has been maintaining his obsession with Thomas the Tank Engine
