Everything Rob touches turns to gold! This will be another wonderful opportunity for our groups. Maria Island is indeed very special.

We are incredibly excited to announce that we have purchased Maria Island Cruises.

For 20 years, Mike Davis has built a wonderful business sharing the beauty and stories of Maria Island with visitors, and we feel honoured to have the opportunity to continue his amazing legacy.

We're looking forward to continuing to highlight just how special Maria Island is, and to becoming part of the Triabunna community that has supported Mike's vision and helped showcase this remarkable island and region with visitors from around the world.

We plan to take bookings from 4 October and look forward to sharing more about the next chapter of Maria Island Cruises under Pennicott Wilderness Journeys soon.

Rob Pennicott shared this pic of the Painted Cliffs from a recent visit to Maria Island. Just one of fabulous features of the island's spectacular coastline that we can't wait to explore from the water.

🐾MEET THE NEWEST ADDITIONS TO THE DEVILS@CRADLE FAMILY 🐾

We are absolutely thrilled to share some incredible conservation wins from this year's breeding season at Devils@Cradle! We can now confirm that we have at least 9 new Tasmanian devil joeys thriving across 5 amazing mums. And as breeding season continues for our quolls, recent pouch checks have confirmed we also have a few little Eastern quoll joeys coming through as well!

With wild populations facing ongoing threats, every single one of these healthy joeys represents a vital step forward for Tasmanian wildlife and a stronger insurance population for the future.

Our latest litters are growing fast, looking strong, and our incredible mothers are doing an amazing job nurturing the next generation. These little ones are a true testament to our dedicated conservation work and bring so much hope for the future of both species.

Best of all, some of these precious new joeys will be starting to make appearances on our Joey Encounters soon!

A massive thank you to our hardworking keepers and everyone who supports our sanctuary. Stay tuned for updates on our newest additions to the Cradle Mountain family!

A Special Moment in Tasmanian Tourism! 🚢✨

This morning the brand new, custom designed Spirit of Tasmania IV sailed proudly up the Mersey River and docked at the new port. What an exciting sight it was! 🚢🌊

Mel and Fiona were up bright and early to see this very special event. The excitement was shared by hundreds of people from the local community, who gathered to witness this significant milestone and celebrate the arrival of this magnificent new vessel.

At Austrips, we’re thrilled to be working with TT-Line to bring groups across Bass Strait and experience the Spirit of Tasmania for themselves.

We can’t wait to see where this exciting new chapter takes us! 💙

Nestled along Tasmania’s North West Coast, Devonport blends natural beauty with a vibrant community spirit. Expansive parklands, coastal beaches and scenic pathways invite exploration, while cultural landmarks such as Tiagarra Tasmanian Aboriginal Cultural Centre, Home Hill and the Bass Strait Maritime Museum reveal the city’s rich history. After dark, the free From Sky to Sea light show animates the waterfront, celebrating Devonport’s connection to land, sea and sky. Cradle Mountain lies within easy reach for an unforgettable day trip. A Historic Reopening: The Servants Kitchen Cafe at Woolmers Estate

For ten years, the Servants Kitchen has served its time. This May, it has earned its Ticket of Leave and will reopen to the public for the first time in a decade and to celebrate for the next two weeks, your first cup is on us.

From 8am until 10am every morning, the Servants’ Kitchen is open to everyone and entry to the Woolmers Estate grounds is completely free. Walk the tree-lined avenues across 13 hectares of one of Tasmania’s most significant colonial estates in the quiet before the day visitors arrive. Then settle in and indulge by the roaring fire. Eggs Benedict with house-made hollandaise. Waffles with poached fruit and maple syrup. Porridge with golden syrup. Eggs your way on sourdough. Or simply toast with butter and house-made jam.

And for the next two weeks, your first cup is completely on us. Registration is required and is limited to 35 guests per 8-10am session, so we recommend securing your place early.

After 10am the cafe continues for ticketed estate guests until 6:30pm. But those first two hours belong to everyone.
