Meet the Australian ghost nipper, also known as a yabbie or nipper. These fascinating little creatures live beneath the sandbanks and mudflats of the Tweed River and are an important part of the local ecosystem.

In this photo, you can actually spot the difference between the female and male ghost nippers 👀
The female is at the top, carrying eggs beneath her body, while the male is at the bottom with the larger claw used for digging and defending burrows.
