Jan Shaw and using Mother of Pearl. Mother of Pearl has become a distinct part of my paintings. In 1997 I began teaching and still teach four classes a week in my home studio in Tyabb, Victoria, Australia. I also love to travel teach and have been lucky enough to have taught all around Australia, New Zealand and the USA. This class is available in person as well as on Zoom.

Zhostovo Fruits- Learn to paint leaves and fruits in my easy Zhostovo technique, I have incorporated pretty Mother of Pearl flowers into this piece
especially for this group.

Poinsettias and Holly Panel- Learn how to thickly load a brush to create dimensional flowers and fun techniques using metallics.
Large and small 3D printed butterflies, with Mother of Pearl being supplied for the small butterfly especially for this group.

You may paint on your own surfaces or the surfaces I will be using which are available through Pinecraft.

Most everyone knows of my grandsons fight with cancer.
This year Theodore is the ambassador for DARE TO CURE which involves people doing dares to raise awareness and money to fight for a cure for childhood cancer.
As his Nan, I DARE all my painting friends to paint 8 days straight with me. As Theo loves all sports we will be painting the Sporting Owls.
We will begin Thursday 9th October for Australia and Wednesday 8th October for the USA. Times to be scheduled.
Epattern is available for a donation of $25AUS which is about $20US. This price includes all 8 patterns, access to videos plus a bonus. 100% of the proceeds going to the DARE TO CURE Campaign on October 17th as part of Theodores ambassadorship.

Payments can be made via PayPal.
This a a special challenge which will be done via Zoom.

Are you looking to have fun and to paint outside the lines. We will kreate quirky different designs on unique w surfaces having lots of exciting adventures along the way. Most weeks I will offer free classes where you can paint along with me with the option to purchase the pattern or not. Plus once a month we will have a Zoom class. Come get you’re Groove On, with “Foxy Mama” Karen Brouwer and Marco Aguilar aka “The Man” as they join forces for the OKC 2025 Special Event, “Movin’ and Groovin’” on Sunday August 10thfrom 2 pm to 9 .m.

Fine art and decorative painting will collide in a psychedelic kaleidoscope of colors and techniques as you paint this laser cut 3 Dimensional wood “Hippy Van”. You will learn how to loosely paint a funky tie dyed van with embellished headlights and removable magnetic trim panels that you customize with textures and some Freaky Cool techniques and colors! Are you diggin it?
You may paint the van in any color you like, Marco is coming up with an amazing metallic one just like the lines in the 60’s and 70’s.
Our goal is to help create your own personalised Kombi van and side panel.

But wait man, there are more groovy things. You will learn to paint a canvas board back drop with removable stand where the sun, sky and surf come together and make you feel as if you were “Trippin”.

Surfs up at the beach, and if you are “Movin’ and Groovin” down life’s highway your customizable laser cut surf board (which can be attached to the roof of the van), guitar, flowering plants, and suitcase are just some of the added wood pieces you will be painting.

Goodie bags, Good Vibes and the zany antics of Karen and Marco will surely guarantee you a Funky, Far Out good time in this special event class!

This is the Golden Pheasant Tray.
Class is Monday August Friday 15 th 8-3 . Being a 6 hour class we will be able to spend time learning some Zhostovo techniques , there is lots of thin layers and techniques and tips to learn in this piece.

This is Pearly Butterflies Napkin Holder.
Class is Monday August Tuesday 12 th 1-5, there is so much to learn in this class , its painted with DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics to look like inks. Plus we have some real Mother of Pearl butterflies, bodies and embellishments. A fun relaxing class for sure.

This is Floras Flower Shop Teapot, as a special treat the people who take this class will also get the pattern for Flora The Flower Fairy.
Class is Monday August 11 th 1-5, there is so much to learn on this class, we have stencil, texture, loose easy flowers and lots and lots of embellishments.
