It’s getting close to The 4th July and in American River we celebrate in our own unique style. Just ask a volunteer in the Rebuild Independence boat shed next to the Deck Cafe and you will get the story and meet a local. Linger longer over coffee and watch the resident seals relax in the water. One more experience to enjoy on Kangaroo Island.

Lots of wildlife nearby. Ocean is a 5 minute walk away. Central place to tour all of Kangaroo Island, fish and water activities, Relax and recharge. Quiet and peaceful. Home of the rare glossy black cockatoos. Each of the 3 self contained apartments have Jarrah floors, airconditioning and ceiling fans, kitchen, bathroom, hair dryer etc, Deck or balcony in the top apartment and lounge with sea and valley views. Native animals abound and often take a walk on the decks.

The upper driveway leads up to a level surfaced circular carpark and entry to the two top disability friendly apartments and entry is via a well lit ramp ensuring safe access day and night. We have lived on Kangaroo Island for years and can suggest the best places to visit on the Island and the best fishing places/ charters, abundant bird life, photography, nature walks and tips and help to catch the abundant fish in the Sea (Eastern Cove) within 5 houses of the apartment.
