🌏🚍 Outback Corner Country Tour – What a Journey! 🚍🌏

As our 13-day Outback Corner Country adventure is done and dusted we would like to sincerely thank everyone who travelled with us and helped make this such a memorable tour.

From the red dirt roads and vast outback landscapes to the historic towns, iconic landmarks and breathtaking sunsets, this tour has been filled with wonderful experiences, plenty of laughter and lasting friendships. What began as a group of travellers quickly became a travelling family.

The Outback certainly kept us on our toes along the way, delivering a few unexpected surprises! From road closures and changing travel conditions to the occasional challenge that comes with exploring some of Australia's most remote regions, every twist and turn became part of the adventure. As they say, the best stories often come from the unexpected, and we certainly have plenty of those to share.

A very special thank you goes to our outstanding team. To Mitchell, our Coach Captain, thank you for your professionalism, patience, local knowledge and unwavering commitment to ensuring everyone travelled safely and comfortably. Your ability to adapt when plans changed and keep the tour moving smoothly was greatly appreciated by all.

To Linda, our Tour Es**rt, thank you for your warmth, organisation and genuine care for every passenger. Your friendly nature, attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond helped make this journey such an enjoyable experience for everyone on board.

Most importantly, thank you to our wonderful passengers. Your enthusiasm, good humour, flexibility and camaraderie made this tour truly special. Whether sharing stories over a meal, enjoying morning teas in beautiful locations, or simply admiring the ever-changing outback scenery together, you helped create memories that will last a lifetime.

As we make our way home, we do so with cameras full of photos, hearts full of memories and many new friendships formed along the way.

Thank you for travelling with Down Under Coach Tours. We look forward to welcoming you aboard another adventure in the future.

❀️🚍 Until next time, safe travels and thank you for being part of our Outback Corner Country story.

Outback Corner Country – Day 12
We’re on the home stretch now, and today saw us leave Moree behind as we turned north and followed the Newell Highway towards Queensland.
Crossing the border into Goondiwindi, we stopped for morning tea beneath the beautiful gum trees along the banks of the Macintyre River, enjoying the peaceful surroundings before continuing our journey.
Travelling through Inglewood, we arrived at Coolmunda Organic Olives, where Katie welcomed us for a fascinating tour of the property. We enjoyed tasting a range of delicious olive products and a wonderful lunch before continuing on to Toowoomba for our final night's accommodation.
This evening, we gathered for a fantastic farewell dinner to celebrate an unforgettable journey. Along the way we've shared plenty of laughs, discovered some remarkable places, and created memories that will stay with us long after the tour ends. What began as a coach full of strangers has become a travelling family, with friendships formed and strengthened throughout this wonderful Outback Corner Country adventure. ❀️🚍❀️
Tomorrow, we make our way home with full hearts and many stories to tell.

Outback Corner Country – Day 11
Today we travelled from Cobar through to Moree, making the most of another enjoyable day on the road.
Our first stop was Bourke, where we enjoyed morning tea by the Darling River before continuing on to Walgett for lunch. From there, we made our way to Moree, arriving late this afternoon and settling in for the evening.
With only one day left before we arrive home, everyone is reflecting on what has been a wonderful tour. We've travelled through some incredible parts of outback Australia, shared plenty of laughs, made new friends, and created lots of special memories along the way.
Tonight there's a bit of extra excitement with a coach full of proud Queenslanders keen to watch the State of Origin. Safe to say there'll be plenty of support for the Maroons! 🏈🏈
Looking forward to our final day on the road tomorrow as we continue our journey home.
Go Queensland! πŸˆπŸˆπŸ™

Outback Corner Country – Day 10
Another wonderful day on the road as we farewelled Broken Hill and began making our way slowly towards home.
Travelling through the heart of outback New South Wales, we stopped in Wilcannia where we enjoyed a lovely picnic lunch before continuing our journey. Along the way, we took in the ever-changing landscapes and made a welcome stop at Emmdale Roadhouse for afternoon tea and a chance to stretch our legs.
One of the highlights of today's travel was seeing just how magnificent the country is looking after the recent rains. The outback is alive with colour, with so much greenery across the vast open spaces β€” a beautiful sight that many remarked they had never seen quite like this before.
We arrived safely in Cobar this evening and settled into our accommodation after another enjoyable day of travel, friendship, and spectacular scenery. As our Outback Corner Country adventure begins to wind down, we're making the most of every kilometre and every moment together.
Tomorrow we continue our journey towards home, with more stories and memories still to be made. πŸšπŸŒΏβ˜€οΈ

While attending the Retirement & Lifestyle Expo in Sandgate today, I discovered a breakfast with a story.

This is "My Nonna's Breakfast" β€” a signature dish lovingly created by a grandson in honour of his Nonna and the family traditions she passed down through food.

Fresh herbs, halloumi, egg, greens, roasted cauliflower, chickpeas, pomegranate, almond dukkah and warm flatbread came together to create a meal that was not only delicious but also wholesome, nourishing and made with obvious care.

As I sat enjoying breakfast, I found myself reflecting on how food has a remarkable way of connecting us to family, memories and heritage. Sometimes the most memorable experiences aren't the grand attractions or famous landmarks, but the stories shared around a table.

A special thank you to Michael and Christy for their wonderful hospitality and for making the experience so welcoming and memorable. Thank you also for sharing a little piece of your Nonna's legacy. It was the perfect start to a busy day at the Sandgate Retirement & Lifestyle Expo.

Outback Corner Country – Day 9
Another spectacular day in Broken Hill, with beautiful sunshine and perfect weather making it even more enjoyable.
After a lovely breakfast, we headed to the iconic Pro Hart Gallery, where we were amazed by the incredible artwork and unique talent of one of Australia's most celebrated artists. Pro Hart's creativity and versatility shone through every display, leaving us all inspired by his remarkable legacy.
From there, we visited the Silver City Mint and Art Centre, where we enjoyed a fascinating guided tour. We learned about the history behind the stunning artworks and the talented artists and family who have helped make this attraction so special. The stories and passion shared by our guide brought the artworks to life and made the experience even more memorable.
We then enjoyed some free time to explore the shops and streets of Broken Hill before lunch, soaking up the atmosphere of this unique outback city.
In the afternoon, we visited the Royal Flying Doctor Service for an informative guided tour. It was a wonderful insight into the vital work the RFDS performs, providing essential medical services to remote communities across Australia. The stories of dedication and care were both inspiring and humbling.
Our final stop for the day was the breathtaking Living Desert Sculptures. Set amongst the stunning outback landscape, these magnificent sandstone sculptures were truly spectacular. Combined with the sweeping views across the Barrier Ranges, it was the perfect way to conclude another memorable day.
We returned to our accommodation reflecting on another fantastic day of discovery, history, art, and friendship. With perfect weather, great company, and so many unforgettable experiences, our Outback Corner Country adventure continues to exceed expectations.
