Wise words from our local CFA.

Please take care this long weekend.

Heading out over the long weekend?
Please take care on the roads, tracks and trails!

Your local volunteer firefighters are always on call, ready to respond, but we’re hoping you won't need us!

If you're hitting the road, here's a few things to keep in mind

- Slow down... and drive to the conditions and the speed limit
- Buckle up!
- Stay off your phone.
- Plan ahead, don't drink & drive
- Take regular breaks.

Whether you're staying local of heading out of town stay safe and enjoy the long weekend.

Take note people. There will be road closures for both the Walhalla [6am] and Erica [9am] ANZAC Day services so allow extra time and be prepared to walk from your car to the service.

If you are coming to Walhalla tomorrow for the Dawn Service, please be aware that the road through Walhalla will be closed from the Old Post Office so you will need to park and walk to the cenotaph opposite the rotunda. Please allow at least an extra 15 minutes as you will have to park some distance away. Walhalla Witchery will be open from 5am so you can grab a coffee as you walk to the cenotaph.

The service starts at 6am SHARP.

Once again our local Scouts will be doing their gunfire breakfast post the service so bring some cash with you if you wish to partake.

Lest We Forget.

Easter is nearly here and we are looking forward to welcoming the many visitors who are planning to come to town over the holiday break. The autumn colours are looking fantastic and the weather is going to be pleasant. We love seeing people taking photos of the foliage and sharing them with family and friends. We’ve seen some wonderful images that showcase the beauty of Walhalla.

We would like to ask however that everyone please respect the residents and property owners in town and keep your photography to the “public domain”. This means that you don’t jump that fence, go through that gate, ignore a rope closing off an area or cross that bridge to get that “special” photo. We know it’s very tempting, but pleae do not enter private property. If in doubt…don’t. Thank you for your understanding and here’s to a safe and happy Easter.

Enjoy your holidays in the region, but please be respectful of the locals and their private property 👍✅

We fully support Aberfeldy and their campaign to keep their sealed road. This is simply Baw Baw Shire cutting costs not wanting to maintain a sealed road!
