We know that times are tough for so many people and wish we could give everyone a little magic this Christmas. 🎄 A family or person who deserves to take some time out to relax and reconnect?

Christmas can be a hard time for many, a busy time for most and can really strain the finances, particularly as the cost of living is creating a pinch. This year has truly shown us the importance of spending quality time with those who mean the most to us. So we've decided to give away a 2 night stay at the Cottage, to be taken in 2026.

Please take a moment to nominate a person or family who is in need of a break - maybe they've struggled mentally, physically or financially, lost a loved one, experienced hard times or work so hard that relaxation time is never at the front of their mind.

How to nominate:
- Add their name in the comments section below (if you don't want to name them for personal reasons, please send us a private message to nominate).
- Visit our website so you know where they will take a holiday if they win https://www.lakebywatercottage.com.au/

Terms and Conditions:
- This Competition is open from Monday 8th December until 11.59pm on Tuesday 16th December
- Winner will be drawn at random and announced on Wednesday 17th December
- Voucher can be used for a 2 night stay in June, July or August 2026 or the equivalent value can be used towards a stay during other months of the year (additional costs may apply).
- A gift voucher will be available for collection from CE Property Rentals in Birdwood or Mannum before Christmas or the voucher can be posted for receipt in the new year.
- Open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over only

On Mother's Day we acknowledge and celebrate mothers, mothers-in-law, step-mothers, foster mothers, new mothers, mother-figures, mothers-to-be, mothers of angel children and heavenly mothers - your love and legacy continue to inspire.

We would like to send a special thought to those missing their mothers and children who are not here to share the day with you.

Sorry for the crickets on our page recently. It has been an incredibly busy summer/autum season and we’re still busy with bookings. But we’ve also been busy with something else….

Check out our NEW RIVER FRONT DECK!!! 🚤 🎣 🏊‍♂️

At the end our river side walking trail you’ll find our brand new installation which is perfect for fishing, bringing in your boat or kayak and the lower section is the swim deck with a ladder (not shown in the images though). Whilst the water levels are a little low at the moment, the deck is still the perfect place to relax during your stay.
