Tomorrow is the first day you can apply for the new UK ETA. It is not needed until Jan 8 and will not be scanned if people travel before then.
Remember this is NOT a visa but an ETA (electronic travel authority) which allows people to travel to the UK on multiple occasions over a 2 year period (each visit up to 6 months at a time). The visa is as always granted on arrival. The ETA costs GBP10.
Remember anyone travelling to the UK (ie arriving) up to 7 January does NOT need an ETA.
