The excitement is building, the showgrounds are coming to life and Waroona is getting ready to welcome thousands of visitors this Saturday!

Celebrating its 95th year, the Waroona Show is one of our town’s biggest days of the year, and there’s SO much to see and do!

🎶 Live music and entertainment
🎡 Sideshow rides and family fun
🏆 The inaugural Young Farmers Challenge
🎨 Incredible exhibits, arts and crafts

There’s nothing quite like the atmosphere of a good old-fashioned country show, and Waroona certainly knows how to put one on!

Not long now, folks! Our town is buzzing and getting ready to welcome thousands of visitors this Saturday for the 95th Waroona Show!

And this year there’s something BRAND NEW to watch…

🌾 THE INAUGURAL YOUNG FARMERS CHALLENGE 🌾

Head to the north end of the oval at 3.30pm as teams of four go head-to-head in a series of farming challenges including the tractor tyre toss, hay bale stacking, lasso the bull, wheelbarrow racing and more!

And we’ve added an extra prize! 🏆

Along with the $500 first prize, each member of the WINNING TEAM will receive a DOUBLE PASS to the inaugural Charla Downs Waroona Rodeo on Saturday 21 November, proudly provided by the Shire of Waroona and Double Barrel Entertainment. 🤠🐂

🎣🐟 WAROONA… WHAT A TROUTFEST!! 🐟🎣
WOW! What a way to celebrate 10 YEARS of Waroona Troutfest

The sun was shining, Drakesbrook Weir was looking absolutely magnificent at more than 90% capacity – and you came out in your THOUSANDS!
With more than 2,000 people estimated to have joined us, this was our biggest Troutfest yet! 💙

From kids, parents and grandparents releasing trout, to casting a line, learning to fly fish, trying the casting challenge or simply soaking up the atmosphere – the Weir was buzzing!

A huge thank you to Recfishwest and DPIRD, whose teams once again helped bring Troutfest to life, including Andrew B**r and the Fisheries WA hatchery team for raising and bringing the beautiful rainbow and brown trout. 🐟

We loved having Fishability Friends, Fresh Water Anglers of WA, and Forests Angling Club sharing their knowledge and getting people involved in freshwater fishing. 🎣

Thank you also to Gear, Murphy's Spuds, Ollie & Belle Coffee, Lions & Leos, Fun Depot Fishing Game, Fairy Jasmine face painting and our talented local singer Cinty Dwyer.

A very special thank you to Alcoa Australia for their ongoing financial support of Waroona Troutfest.

🚍 And how good was the FREE shuttle?! Thank you -Waroona Bus Services – it was incredibly well utilised throughout the morning!

Another special moment was the official opening of the Waroona to Weir Trail, with The Hon Andrew Hastie MP, Federal Member for Canning, joining Shire President Cr Mike Walmsley to cut the ribbon.

🛶 And then there was THAT KAYAK! Thank you Schlam Payload Waroona for donating our fantastic scavenger hunt prize – and congratulations to the lucky family who took it home!

🚌 PLEASE USE THE FREE TROUTFEST SHUTTLE BUS!

Drakesbrook Weir is incredibly popular at the moment, with hundreds of visitors enjoying the area each weekend – and with Waroona Troutfest happening this Saturday, parking at the Weir will be very limited.

To help us keep traffic moving and make getting to Troutfest easy, we strongly encourage visitors to use our FREE shuttle bus.

📍 Waroona Recreation & Aquatic Centre – 88 Hill Street, Waroona
🚌 First shuttle departs at 8.30am
🔄 Buses will run continuously throughout the event
🕐 Final return shuttle departs the Weir at 1pm

Park at the Recreation Centre, jump aboard and we’ll take you straight to the action at Drakesbrook Weir – no need to worry about finding a park when you arrive.

With a big day of fishing, the community trout release, activities, food, live music and the official opening of the Waroona to Weir Trail, we’re expecting a fantastic turnout.
