It has been reported in the Media over the past 24 hours suggesting that the Australian Government is advising Australians to not travel for the next 5 months.

THIS IS NOT THE CASE...

What was communicated in an interview, was that the flight corridors over the coming months are going to be extremely busy due to higher demand for flights not utilizing the Middle East corridor.

At the moment, airfares are elevated due to a range of factors affecting global aviation, not due to airlines price gauging.

As always, we recommend for the most up to date and accurate information, you check official sources; airline websites & apps, The Australian Travel Industry Association and Smartraveller.

Unfortunately this is yet another case of the media misreporting to sensationalize stories and create panic.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the unfolding events in the Middle East.

As a Travel Agency, our top priority is the wellbeing of our clients and managing those bookings that have been directly impacted. We will continue to have close contact with airlines and suppliers to support our clients.

This is a very fluid situation that is changing rapidly. At this stage this is what we know, Iran, Israel, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain and Iraq have all closed their airspace. This is effecting flights travelling through or via cities such as Doha, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

We recommend that you continue to check the Smartraveller website for Australian Government updates. For those with affected bookings in the next 72 hours we will be in touch to help manage your itinerary. For those travelling in the coming weeks and months, we appreciate your patience at this time as things are changing so quickly we may not be able to advise at this stage, of options for changing and cancelling your bookings.
