I filmed the thing people never believe.
Every audio guide app says it works hands free. Then you start driving, open Google Maps for directions, and the guide goes quiet β because it was only ever a web page, and a web page dies the moment something else takes the screen.
Here is ours, filmed on a real drive. Google Maps has the screen and is doing the navigating, and underneath it the guide keeps naming what we just passed and which way to look. Through the car speakers. Nobody touches the phone.
Same thing with the screen off and the phone in your pocket on a walk.
160+ places in Sydney, written by me over twenty years of guiding and voiced with an AI model of my own voice, so it sounds the same from the first stop to the last. It starts from a link in your browser. If you want the pocket and the dashboard, there is a 5 MB app, no subscription.
