Australia’s largest native land slug - Red Triangle Slug (Triboniophorus graeffei) .​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
We found this beauty grazing on the algae of a Eucalyptus Tree on our Werrikimbe Wanderer hike. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Fun facts; ​​​​​​​​
🍃The breathing pore for this slug is located in the red triangle. ​​​​​​​​
🍃This species of slug has been found to have an unusual defensive mechanism. It can secrete a kind of sticky mucus (different from the slippery slime secreted when it moves) that is strong enough to glue predators down for days.

Last Saturday we took a group of Werrikimbe Wanderers on a hike through the ever changing landscape of the Werrikimbe National Park.
There was a little rain, a little sun and a lot of fun!
