From Ghost Tour Inspiration to Published Horror! 👻📚

We love hearing how our ghost tours inspire our guests, but this one truly blew us away! A couple of years ago, author Em Starr joined us on the Williamstown Ghost Tour. Inspired by the rich history and atmosphere of old Willy’s bustling port days, she went straight home and wrote a historical Christmas horror story titled "Santa's In The Cellar."

Fast forward to today:

📖 Her story is published in Flame Tree Publishing’s Christmas Horror Short Stories anthology alongside legendary authors like Charles Dickens and H.P. Lovecraft!

🎧 It’s also been adapted for audio on the renowned NoSleep Podcast.

Welcome to Week 4 of 7 as we count down to the grand Gladstone Gaol Ghost Tour Launch this Halloween Weekend! 🎃👻

This week, we venture into ROOM 4: B BLOCK—where silence is constantly broken by the unknown… 🗝️

In B Block, prisoners once sat waiting in anticipation to learn their fate. Today, this wing is famous among investigators for strange, deliberate knocking sounds that seem to travel rhythmically along the stone walls—echoes, perhaps, of inmates who once tried to communicate in complete silence.

🕯️ FUN FACT: Strict silence rules were enforced in 19th-century prisons to prevent inmates from plotting escapes or riots! Prisoners quickly adapted by developing "wall tapping" codes, knocking on the thick stone walls to pass messages from cell to cell. To this day, visitors stepping into B Block report hearing distinct, deliberate three-knock patterns on the cell walls right next to them—even when the surrounding cells are completely empty! 🚪💥👀
