The right time is now.

So many of us say, “I’ll start later.”
* When work slows down.
* When the kids are older.
* When I retire.

But here’s the truth: life doesn’t hand us perfect moments.

This is Brod, one of our members, and her words say it best:

“Now my conversations are about where I’ve been hiking, where I’m going next, exercising, looking after ‘future me’… I’m a slow walker, but I’m doing better than the person who says, ‘I’ll do it one day’ or ‘when I retire’. The right time is now.”

Day 4 of our Mighty Murray River Fitness Adventure

Today’s 12km hike along the beautiful Chowilla Creek was nothing short of magical. From spotting emus wandering freely in their natural environment, to watching Brahmani Kites soar gracefully above the striking Queen’s Bend Cliffs – nature truly put on a show for us.

We wrapped up the day in perfect style – sunset drinks aboard the tender, followed by another magnificent feast, and the enjoyed drinks by the fire pit on the banks of the Murray.

This river has a way of filling the soul.

Day 3 of our Mighty Murray River Fitness Adventure

Our day began before sunrise, head torches lighting the way as we climbed the escarpment to our morning vista. Heavy clouds and light rain meant the sunrise stayed hidden, but we were rewarded with a warm cuppa and sweeping views across the Murray and beyond.

Back at the High River, we geared up for a 12 km hike along the Murray’s banks. Recent showers left the trail a little muddy, but it only added to the sense of adventure. Along the way, we discovered rich Aboriginal history – from ancient Canoe Trees to hidden middens – each telling stories of the past.

After cruising back, we cooled our feet in the Murray’s refreshing waters and soaked up the afternoon light. A perfect way to end another incredible day on the river!

What a way to start day 2 of our Mighty Murray River Fitness Adventure - blue skies and cruising!

Our first hike began at Woolenook Bend, where we explored the banks of the Murray and uncovered the history of a World War II internment camp. The trail meandered through box woodlands before gently climbing up a sandy cliff and rewarding us with stunning views across the Murray River floodplain.

After a fabulous day of hiking, we boarded our houseboat, “High River” - our floating home for our adventure. It was time to unwind and take in the sunset across the cliff lined shore!

The day ended on a high note with a delicious three-course dinner, perfectly paired with local wines.

Life on the river is off to an incredible start!

The Mighty Murray River Adventure has begun and it’s already been filled with memorable moments.

Members travelled from Brisbane, Darwin, Townsville and the Sunshine Coast for this South Australian adventure.

We left Adelaide behind and made our way via private transfer, to the picturesque town of Renmark which sits on the banks of the Murray River.

We enjoyed a fantastic welcome dinner with delicious food, lots of laughter and the chance to connect with old friends and new Women’s Fitness Adventurers.

With hearts and tummies full it was time to prepare our packs for our first day hiking along the majestic Murray River. Excited for what lies ahead on the next stage of our adventure.

Saturday hiking magic in the Scenic Rim!
Mt Greville was the destination – and what a spectacular, technical adventure it turned out to be.

We ascended through the stunning Palm Gorge, climbed to the summit with clear views and a refreshing breeze, and then tackled the descent over rock slabs and uneven terrain – the perfect chance to work on our technique.

The best part? Despite the rain forecast, we enjoyed perfect hiking weather.
A top day out with great company, fresh air, and the kind of scenery you just don’t forget.

It doesn't matter who you are, we all share the same laundry list of worries about our hiking fitness, about being last, about holding others up and.....

Rest assured you are not alone - I would say that every single one of the women in these photos would have either thought it or voiced it. So you are not alone.

But what they did NEXT was the difference between the laundry list and a life of adventure.

They stepped in and gave it a go. They became Women's Fitness Adventures members and their lives changed - from fitness, to friendships, to outdoors, to good health, to travel, to adventure, to laughter to well.... to getting back to yourself.
