It’s time to light the fires. 🔥

With the temperature dropping, the Yackandandah Hotel is warming things up with fires burning inside and out in the beer garden.

This 150‑year‑old pub in Yackandandah has reopened as a welcoming local hub, centred on honest food, great drinks and genuine country hospitality. Built on a love of local produce and regional support, it’s a place where everyone is welcome to slow down and settle in.

Due to recent wet weather, these works have been delayed by one week. At this point in time, these sections are scheduled to reopen on Saturday 16 May.

We’ve also had a number of walkers and riders entering the closed section of the trail. As a reminder, these trail closures are in place to keep everyone safe while machinery and crews are working. We ask all visitors and locals to please observe the signage and barriers. We appreciate your cooperation and patience while works continue.

📢 PSA: Indigo Epic Trail - partial track temporary closures

Sections of the Indigo Epic Trail will be closed to allow for repairs and maintenance of areas damaged by recent floods and heavy rainfall. Works will take place between Monday 20 April - Friday 15 May 2026, requiring the closure of the trail between Haring Lane (Equestrian Centre) and Bells Flat Road (Yack Creek Distillery).

During maintenance works, detours will be in place via the pedestrian bridge opposite Connel Street, along Bells Flat Road to Service Basin Road/Yack Gate Road.

Trail closures will be in place Monday to Friday on the following areas:
🚧 Yackandandah Creek Recreation Trail beyond equestrian centre
🚧 Yackandandah Creek Recreation Trail beyond Yack Creek Distillery/Bells Flat Road
🚧 Betty Searle Track beyond the pedestrian bridge opposite Connel Street
🚧 Haring Lane - South End
🚧 Haring Lane - beyond equestrian centre
🚧 Phils Way
🚧 Yackandandah Gorge track beyond pedestrian bride

You may also see machinery and materials at the Yackandandah Sports Park cricket nets and the Yack Creek Distillery, with construction vehicles using Back Creek Road, Haring Lane and Crystal Creek Lane.

Thanks for your patience while we restore and improve this much‑loved trail network. 🚴‍♀️🌿

We’ve reached peak autumn in Yackandandah.

Park the car, grab a coffee, walk the length of High Street and browse a few shops you won’t find in a shopping centre.

Linger over a long lunch, then wander down by the creek while the leaves do their thing.

If you’ve been meaning to get here, the time is now.

If you haven’t visited Yackandandah in autumn, now’s the moment.

The leaves are beginning to turn, and over the coming weeks the town will be coloured with rich reds and golden yellows.

Make a day of it. Start with coffee and cake at Two Sisters on High Yackandandah then wander across the road to Feather & Drum Hat Co. for a beautifully handmade hat (consider it a well-earned souvenir - you deserve it). Take a gentle stroll along the Yack Creek Trail, before exploring the independent boutiques and galleries that line the main street.

As the day winds down, settle in for dinner and drinks at the Yackandandah Hotel and soak up the relaxed country atmosphere.

Yackandandah - right on your doorstep.

Daniel Champagne is heading to Yack next month, and this is a show worth putting in your diary.

He’s toured the world, played alongside some big names, yet still manages to make every gig feel close and personal. If you appreciate extraordinary guitar playing, good stories and an easy Sunday afternoon atmosphere, this one’s for you.

When did you last wander your own town like you're discovering it for the first time? 🌿

With neighbouring regions affected by fires and hazy conditions across North East Victoria, many of our usual visitors are understandably delaying their plans. This means our local businesses - the cafés, distilleries, stores, makers and services that make our town vibrant - are feeling the pinch.

So this week, why not rediscover Yackandandah? If you're able to, you could:

• Treat yourself to coffee, lunch or dinner at a local café, restaurant or pub
• Commission a piece from one of our talented local artists or makers
• Stock up on handmade goods, homewares or gifts from local shops
• Make a booking for a spirit tasting at the distillery you've been meaning to visit
• Grab your groceries and essentials from businesses right here in town

Every choice to shop local, every local meal eaten, every conversation with a business owner helps sustain the creative community that makes Yack, Yack. 💛
