The reality of a hobby farm… 😂🚜

From the outside it probably looks like we spend our days patting animals, drinking coffee and admiring the view.

The reality? I’m usually trying to fix something I’ve never fixed before, talking to myself (or Millie) and discovering that every “quick job” somehow becomes an all-day project.

Turns out we had an entire underground criminal organisation under the chicken coop 🫠🐀

After losing baby chicks we finally declared war.

Meet Harry and Barry.

The two fluffy rooster boys have recently moved in and are absolutely loving their new life hanging out with the miniature chickens.

They’ve settled in fast — cruising around like they own the place, very happy to be admired and clearly enjoying the slower pace.

This is pretty much how things work here.
Animals arrive, find their people (or their flock), and get on with living.

Our vineyard units are simple, comfortable and easy to settle into.

Shiraz has two queen beds, Cabernet has one queen and two singles, so they work just as well for couples as they do for families or friends travelling together.

Good light, proper beds and space to unpack — whether you’re here for one night or staying long enough to slow right down.

A quiet place to rest, right in the middle of farm life.

These two are part of the local peacock delegation.

Just before Christmas they (and several others) decided to take themselves on a little holiday to Normanville.
Word is they were planning on entering the Normanville New Year’s Eve Pageant Parade….

Some have since made their way back.
Others… remain unaccounted for.

They’re wild, they cruise around the farm doing whatever they want and occasionally perch up next to guests like this is all completely normal — which, here, it is.
