30 minutes from Mclaren Vale
and 30 minutes from Cape Jervis. The 32 acre hobby farm has stunning views across the valley and out to the ocean surrounded by beautiful bushland and native animals.

We have a number of accommodation options for quick getaways or long stays.

Enjoy our ever-growing farm and immerse yourself in our beautiful boutique vineyard and surroundings. Large Cellar House (sleeps 8-14)
2 x Self contained Units (each sleeps 2-5)
2 x Glamping-style Domes (each sleeps 2-4)(Currently unavailable due to construction and development).

Our new function space and wine bar is currently in development mode and our cellar door will only be open for private wine tastings and small events while we await our new licensing. Please message us to book in advance.

We are now taking bookings for retreats. We have so much to offer and would love to create a package for you. Including-

I probably don’t show this side of Allusions enough.

In amongst feeding animals, building things, running the farmstay and whatever project I’ve decided absolutely needs doing immediately… there’s a whole lot of cooking happening here too.

Private dinners, retreat catering, long lunches and functions.
Sometimes it’s beautifully plated, sometimes everything goes down the middle of a big table and everyone digs in.

This is probably the part of Allusions that feels most like me.
Good food, plenty of it and a table full of people enjoying themselves.

And if you go home hungry, I clearly haven’t done my job.

Turns out if you spend enough hours building fences, moving timber, digging holes, making gates, shifting chickens around and spending far more money than any sensible person would on Chicken Town… eventually they give you this. 😍

Blue, green, olive, brown, cream and white.

The girls are happy.
Chicken Town is finally doing exactly what we built it for and collecting eggs like this never gets old.

Financially sound investment? Questionable. Pretty bloody colours though….

Your accommodation may include unannounced visitors.

The Cellar House is the big old heart of Allusions.
Six bedrooms, four bathrooms, a huge kitchen and plenty of room for everyone to spread out.

And because this is a working farm, there’s always the possibility somebody will appear at the door who definitely wasn’t included in the booking.

We cannot guarantee which member of staff will conduct your welcome.
Guest privacy is taken very seriously...

Activities vary depending on his mood and how much supervision is available.

There are some things you just can’t really put in an accommodation listing.
We can tell you how many bedrooms there are, show you the kitchen, the pool and where you’ll sleep.
But it’s harder to explain waking up and looking out at this.

The Maremmas wandering around doing their rounds.
The ridiculous number of animals who all seem to think they own the place.
The sunsets that still make us stop and look.

It’s definitely not a perfectly manicured resort.
It’s our home, a little working farm and usually a fair bit of chaos.

And that’s kind of the whole point.
Come stay in the middle of it.

The walls are getting sturdier, the gates are finally on and after a combination of YouTube tutorials, ChatGPT and making it up as I went along, I can build gates now.

Still plenty to do. There is ALWAYS plenty to do.

My dad always used to have this saying- “If you go home hungry or sober, it’s your own fault.”
And growing up as one of 10 kids with a chef Mumma, I think mass feeding people was probably always going to be in my blood.

I still have absolutely no idea how to cook for two people…
I do, however, know how to cook a good steak, roast a ridiculous amount of pumpkin and make sure nobody leaves hungry.

Which is why I love catering here at Allusions so much.
Everyone can settle in around the table, eat too much, have another glass of wine and best of all- stay the night.
No one has to worry about heading home.

Turns out Dad’s philosophy fits in pretty well around here!
