There was a time when I thought creativity was a luxury I couldn’t afford.
Between the mortgage, the business, the endless responsibilities of motherhood — those moments when my hands wanted to create felt stolen. Selfish.
Like I was taking time away from what “”really mattered.””
Recently, my boys (now grown) shared something that completely shifted my perspective. They told me how those moments I thought I was stealing were actually the moments that shaped them most profoundly.
They didn’t have fond memories of the stress or endless to-do lists.
But they do of the magic I created with my hands.
The way our home felt when creativity was welcome.
How I taught them that beauty isn’t a luxury — it’s a necessity for the soul.
All those years, I thought I was being selfish.
But I was actually showing them what it looks like to live in partnership with your creative essence.
What if the thing you think you don’t have time for is exactly what the world needs you to remember?
What if your creativity isn’t taking you away from what matters — but leading you back to who you really are?
Sometimes the most profound teaching happens not through our words, but through how we choose to live.
✨ What wants to be created through your hands today?
