Recently Yeppoon Jetski Tours had the privilege of assisting the Coast Guard Yeppoon QF11 testing a new jetski skin for future watercraft towing.
If you have any boat or jetski, be sure to be covered by the Coast Guard's Marine Assist, and consider volunteering for your local Coast Guard right here at the Rosslyn Bay Harbour.
"New device (see photos): Jet Ski towing is now set to become faster with the purchase of a new Emergency Personal Watercraft skin from Emergency Boat Skins. The skin is made from high-strength 260 Sea Hawk Polyester, and specifically designed for the towing of PWC's, fitted with reflective strips to be easily seen for nighttime towing. The company says that a PWC can be towed back at greatly increased speeds of up to 15 knots(dependent on conditions) rather than the 4-5 knots that is currently safe. This will free up valuable time. Thanks are extended to Yeppoon Jetski Tours for coming down to the harbour to provide a jet ski to trial it on."
