๐๏ธโจ The Ismailiyya Palace โ one of Bakuโs most stunning architectural masterpieces.
Located on Istiglaliyyat Street, this Venetian Gothic-style palace was built between 1908 and 1913 by architect Jรณzef Pลoszko, commissioned by the millionaire Musa Naghiyev in memory of his beloved son Ismayil โ thatโs why it was named Ismailiyya. ๐
Originally serving as the Muslim Charity Society, its facade once bore golden inscriptions encouraging education, hard work, and the pursuit of knowledge โ powerful words that reflected the spirit of progress in early 20th-century Baku.
Despite being damaged during the March events of 1918, the building was beautifully restored and today houses the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan โ continuing its legacy as a place of intellect and culture.
