Chirag Gala Fortress is located at an elevation near the villages of Qalaalti and Mashrif in the Shabran district.
The fortress was built during the 4th–6th centuries under the rule of the Sassanid Empire.

We will start our route from Qalaalti village, walking through the forest towards Chirag Gala. After reaching the fortress, we will hike to a higher viewpoint and take a short break while enjoying the breathtaking panorama overlooking Chirag Gala.

This ancient mountain trail connecting Kuzun and Laza holds a special place in the history of mountaineering. In the past, experienced hikers heading toward Azerbaijan’s highest peaks relied on this very route. Before the existence of automobile roads, the Kuzun–Shahyaylagh line was considered the most reliable passage for reaching Khinalig and Laza.

ovember 1–2: Qızılqaya Peak & Xarıbulbul Heights Hike Successfully Completed!

Over two days, we enjoyed the fresh mountain air, breathtaking landscapes, and the magical beauty of nature. We relaxed at a guesthouse in Khinalug, resting under a star-filled sky at night.

Khinalig – Kharybulbul Height (2783 m)

This peak, with a height of 2783 meters, is dedicated to the cherished memory of all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland in the Second Karabakh War.
The number also has symbolic meaning — it represents the memory of our 2783 martyrs.

During this hike, we will start from the ancient village of Khinalig and ascend toward the “Kharybulbul Height.” After a short rest at the summit, we will return along the same route back to Khinalig village.

This hike is not just a nature trip — it is a journey of respect and remembrance for the souls of our martyrs.
