Nepal issued a historic record of 494 climbing permits for Mount Everest during the 2026 spring climbing season, with mountaineers representing 55 countries.

Among the largest national contingents, China led with 109 climbers, followed by the United States with 77, India with 61, the United Kingdom with 32, and Russia with 18 climbers.

The royalties generated from Everest alone amounted to USD 7.19 million, equivalent to more than NPR 1.07 billion.

The figures underline the growing international demand for Everest expeditions and mark the busiest spring climbing season ever recorded on the world’s highest mountain.

পবিত্র ঈদুল আজহা সামনে রেখে দোকান, বিপণিবিতান খোলা রাখার সময় বাড়াল সরকার। আজ মঙ্গলবার থেকে রাতে ৩ ঘণ্টা বাড়তি সময় খোলা রাখা যাবে। ফলে সন্ধ্যা ৭টার পরিবর্তে ১০টা পর্যন্ত খোলা রাখা যাবে দোকান–বিপণিবিতান। তবে কোনো আলোকসজ্জা ও অতিরিক্ত বিদ্যুৎ ব্যবহার করা যাবে না।

আজ রাত সোয়া ৯টায় বিদ্যুৎ, জ্বালানি ও খনিজ সম্পদ মন্ত্রণালয় থেকে জারি করা এক প্রজ্ঞাপনে সময় বাড়ানোর কথা বলা হয়েছে।
