🚆🇦🇺 Australia Launches the World’s First Fully Solar‑Powered Train!
In the sunny coastal town of Byron Bay, a refurbished 1949 vintage train has made history — becoming the first passenger train in the world powered entirely by solar energy.
☀️ 32 kW of solar panels cover the train and station roof.
🔋 Rechargeable lithium batteries power its electric motors.
♻️ Regenerative braking captures and stores energy.
🚉 Operates on a 3-km track between North Beach and Byron Beach.
🌱 Emission-free, silent, and sustainable.
The train uses only about 5 kWh per round trip, and during sunny hours, it can generate more power than it consumes — even feeding extra electricity back into the grid!
This is more than transport — it’s a symbol of climate-conscious engineering, blending heritage design with futuristic sustainability.
