Dear Traveler,
As per the new budget of Bangladesh Government 2023-2024, travelers departing from Bangladesh now have to pay additional travel taxes. This policy is effective for tickets issued on/after 24 June 2023 and for travel on/after 01 July 2023.

The amended policy of the domestic and international Foreign Air Travel Taxes (UT) is as follows:

Domestic departures: BDT 200

International departures:
SAARC countries (India, Pakistan, Nepal, Maldives, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan): BDT 2,000
North and South America, Europe, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Hong Kong, North Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Taiwan: BDT 6,000
Other countries: BDT 4,000
Note:
The Domestic Travel Tax (UT) previously withdrawn on 10 June 2015 is now reinstated.
Children (passengers 5 to 11 years of age) continue to pay 50% of UT rate. Infants (under 5 years of age) continue to be exempt.
All other conditions remain unchanged.

DHAKA AIRPORT RUNWAY CLOSURE STARTS TONIGHT | EVERYDAY 8 HOURS FOR 3 MONTHS | According to a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) Dhaka Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) runway will be unavailable from 12AM to 8AM starting from 11 December, 2021 till 10 March, 2022. The reason for the closure is to complete construction and join two new rapid exit taxiways to the runway and to perform maintenance work on the runway lighting system. All airlines have scheduled their flights around this closure. It may be extended if required by the authorities.

During this closure, Sylhet Osmani International Airport is being made available as an alternate airport if the need should arise for a flight to divert from Dhaka for any reason. Construction work at Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport,CGP,Chittagong will also take place at night, hence that airport cannot be used as a diversion airport for flights.

This is not the first time that Dhaka’s runway had been closed. Back in 2013 the runway was closed from December to June at night, to allow for repaving of the runway and improving the lighting system.
