First day:
Reach 4 NO BIWTA Jailkhana Ghat from Khulna Royal Junction/Railway Station within 7 AM . Our tour guide will Pickup you to the ship. Breakfast will be served on arrival at the Ship. After leaving the ship, Rupsa Bridge, Khulna Ship Yard and Rampal Power Station can be seen. In the afternoon we will reach Andharmanik forest office and explore the eco-tourism spots of the forest department. Reached kotka in the evening and overnight stay on the ship.
Second day:
Early morning canal cruising around kotka by Enging Boat. Chance to see deer, monkeys, birds and Jamtala Sea Beach while enjoying the natural beauty of the jungle. After breakfast, go to Kotka office and return to the ship. After that, the trip to Kachikhali and Dim Char. In the evening leave for Karamjal from Kachikhali with BBQ Dinner.
Third day:
After breakfast visit Karamjal Eco-tourism spot. Opportunity to see crocodile breeding grounds, monkeys, and deer. Departure for Khulna around noon and reach Khulna at 3:30/4:00 PM.

নেপালে বন্যায় মৃতের সংখ্যা বেড়ে ২১৮, ত্রাণ কার্যক্রম নিয়ে ক্ষোভ I

নেপালে ভারী বৃষ্টি থেকে সৃষ্ট বন্যা-ভূমিধসে মৃতের সংখ্যা বেড়ে ২১৮ জনে দাঁড়িয়েছে। ত্রাণ দেওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে বিলম্ব নিয়ে সরকারের সমালোচনা হচ্ছে। এ ছাড়া অপর্যাপ্ত ত্রাণ নিয়েও সমালোচনা চলছে।

দেশটির স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের তথ্যমতে, এখন পর্যন্ত ২১৮ জনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। নিখোঁজ রয়েছেন ২৭ জন। চার হাজারের বেশি মানুষকে উদ্ধার করে অন্যত্র সরিয়ে নেওয়া হয়েছে।

দুর্গত অনেক এলাকার মানুষ এখনো ত্রাণের অপেক্ষায় আছেন। তাঁরা সরকারের প্রতি ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করছেন।

রাজধানী কাঠমান্ডুর পূর্বাঞ্চলের একটি জেলার এক গ্রামের বাসিন্দা মীরা কেসি। তিনি বলেন, তাঁদের গ্রামে আসার জন্য কোনো সড়ক সচল নেই। কেউ ত্রাণ নিয়েও আসেননি।

সরকারের প্রতি ক্ষোভ জানিয়ে মীরা বলেন, ইতিমধ্যে অনেক মানুষ মারা গেছেন। প্রচুর ক্ষয়ক্ষতি হয়েছে। সরকার এখন যা করবে, সেটা হলো শোক প্রকাশ।

কাঠমান্ডুর নদী–তীরবর্তী একটি বস্তির বাসিন্দা মান কুমার রানা (৪৯)। তিনি বলেন, ঘরবাড়ি প্লাবিত হওয়ায় প্রতিবেশীসহ তাঁকে স্থানীয় একটি বিদ্যালয়ে নিয়ে আশ্রয় দিয়েছিল কর্তৃপক্ষ। কিন্তু বাড়ি ফেরার মতো পরিস্থিতি তৈরি হওয়ার আগেই সেখান থেকে চলে আসতে বাধ্য করা হয়েছে।

মান কুমার আরও বলেন, সরকার যদি রাজধানীর এত কাছে থাকা গরিব মানুষদের দেখভাল করতে না পারে, তাহলে প্রত্যন্ত এলাকায় অন্যদের কীভাবে দেখবে?

জলবায়ুবিশেষজ্ঞ অরুণ ভক্ত শ্রেষ্ঠা বার্তা সংস্থা এএফপিকে বলেন, বন্যা নিয়ে যে সতর্কতা অবলম্বন করা উচিত ছিল, তা করা হয়নি।

উদ্ধার কার্যক্রমে ধীরগতি দেখা গেছে বলে জানান নেপালি দুর্যোগ ব্যবস্থাপনা বিশেষজ্ঞ মান বাহাদুর থাপা। তিনি বলেন, সমন্বয় ও সম্পদের মধ্যকার ঘাটতি উদ্ধার কার্যক্রমকে বাধাগ্রস্ত করেছে।

সাধারণত জুন থেকে সেপ্টেম্বর পর্যন্ত বর্ষা মৌসুমে দক্ষিণ এশিয়ার দেশগুলোতে ভারী বৃষ্টি, বন্যা ও ভূমিধসের ঘটনা দেখা যায়। তবে বিশেষজ্ঞরা বলছেন, জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের কারণে এমন দুর্যোগের মাত্রা ও ব্যাপকতা বাড়ছে।

এভারেস্ট বেজক্যাম্পের পথে হাঁটতে হাঁটতে বাংলাদেশের পার্বত্য অঞ্চলের কথা খুব মনে পড়ছিল। প্রাকৃতিক ঐশ্বর্যের বিচারে দুই দেশের দুটি অঞ্চলই নিজ নিজ মহিমায় অনন্য। অথচ ট্রেকিংয়ের সুবিধার দিক থেকে কত ফারাক! কীভাবে ঘোচানো যায় এই ফারাক, তা–ই ভাবছিলেন বাবর আলী I

চমরী গাইয়ের গলায় ঝোলানো ঘণ্টির টুংটাংই অ্যালার্মের কাজ করল। সকাল সাড়ে সাতটা নাগাদ পথে বেরিয়ে প্রথমেই পড়ল ঝুলন্ত ব্রিজ। এখান থেকেই পাইনগাছের রাজত্ব শুরু। মিনিট বিশেকের মধ্যে ফাকদিংয়ের জনপদ ছাড়িয়ে টকটক। আজকের গন্তব্য অবশ্য শেরপা রাজধানী বলে খ্যাত নামচে বাজার। চলছি দুনিয়ার সর্বোচ্চ চূড়া এভারেস্টের পাদদেশে অবস্থিত বেজক্যাম্পের দিকে। নাকে আসছে জুনিপার ঝোপ পোড়ানোর তীব্র সুগন্ধ। চোখ ধাঁধাচ্ছে রডোডেনড্রন। সেই যে ‘উদ্ধত যত শাখার শিখরে রডোডেনড্রনগুচ্ছ’। নেপালের জাতীয় ফুল।

আর মনে পড়ছে দেশের পাহাড়ের কথা। প্রাকৃতিক দৃশ্যের দিক থেকে দুটি জায়গার মধ্যে অনেক বৈসাদৃশ্য। আবার সমতলের তুলনায় দুই জায়গার জীবনযাত্রাই অনন্য। অনেক কিছুই এখানে সহজে পৌঁছায় না। প্রয়োজনীয় পরিকাঠামো এর মধ্যে অন্যতম। তারপরও দুনিয়ার দুর্গমতম প্রান্তে ভ্রমণপিপাসুদের প্রয়োজনীয় সেবাটুকু পৌঁছে দেওয়ার তাগিদ নেপালের ট্রেকগুলোতে দেখা যায়। এ জায়গাতেই আমরা বেশ পিছিয়ে। সরকারি বা বেসরকারি উদ্যোগ—দুটোই বেশ অপ্রতুল।

নেপালের মতো আমাদের পার্বত্য অঞ্চলেও কয়েকটি ন্যাশনাল পার্ক ঘোষণা করে সেখানে ৩ থেকে ১০ দিনের ট্রেক চালু করা যেতে পারে। শারীরিক শ্রমের আনন্দের পাশাপাশি আমাদের ক্ষুদ্র জাতিগোষ্ঠীর অনন্য ঐতিহ্য চাক্ষুষ করার সুযোগও পেয়ে যাবেন ট্রেকাররা। পাড়াগুলোতে ন্যূনতম সুবিধাসহ হোম স্টে চালু করা গেলে বিদেশ থেকে আসা পর্যটকদেরও আমাদের পার্বত্য অঞ্চলের অনন্য ভূখণ্ডের সঙ্গে পরিচয় করিয়ে দেওয়া যাবে। কমিউনিটি ট্যুরিজমের এই মডেল চালু করে নেপালের দুর্গম ট্রেকগুলোতেও স্থানীয় পাহাড়িরা স্বাবলম্বী হয়েছেন। আমাদের দেশেও এটি চালু করা গেলে নানা প্রাকৃতিক বিপর্যয়ে জেরবার জনগোষ্ঠীগুলোর জীবনযাত্রার মান উন্নত হওয়ার প্রভূত সম্ভাবনা আছে।

বলা হয়ে থাকে পর্যটন আর সংরক্ষণের সম্পর্ক বৈরী। তারপরও এই দুটির সহাবস্থান যে সম্ভব সেটা নেপালের অনেক ট্রেকে গেলেই বোঝা যায়। পর্বতারোহীদের পাশাপাশি ট্রেকার তথা পর্বত-পদযাত্রীদের সুবিধা-অসুবিধার দিকেও নেপালের সরকারের নজর থাকে বেশ। অন্যদিকে যেকোনো অবকাঠামো উন্নয়নের ক্ষেত্রে আমরা প্রকৃতিকে প্রতিপক্ষ হিসেবে বিবেচনা করি। নির্বিচার প্রকৃতিকে সংহার করতে আমাদের হাত একটুও কাঁপে না। রাস্তা নামক সভ্যতার উন্নয়নের অন্যতম মাপকাঠির ক্ষেত্রে আমরা আরও বেশি নির্বিচার। এ জন্য একরের পর একর পাহাড় কিংবা বনভূমি উজাড় করতেও পিছপা হই না। রাস্তা হওয়ার ফলে স্থানীয় লোকেদের সুবিধা নিশ্চয়ই হয়। কিন্তু ঝিরি-ঝরনার ওপর মসৃণ পিচ ঢেলে পাহাড়ের অধিবাসীদের জীবনধারণের পানির উৎসও যে আমরা বুজিয়ে দিচ্ছি, সেটা মাথায় থাকে না। এ ক্ষেত্রে ঝিরি বা নদীর এপার-ওপারকে সংযুক্ত করা সাসপেনশন ব্রিজগুলো হতে পারে উপযুক্ত সমাধান। নেপালের যেকোনো ট্রেকজুড়েই দেখা যায় এহেন সাসপেনশন ব্রিজের রাজত্ব। অবশ্য রাস্তা হলেই পিলপিল করে আসবে মানুষ। দুর্গম কোনো জায়গায় গিয়ে আমরা প্রকৃতি বেশি আর মানুষ কম দেখতে চাই। কোথাও গিয়ে প্রকৃতি কম আর মানুষ বেশি হলেই মুশকিল। এ ভারসাম্যটা অবশ্য নেপালও ঠিক রাখতে পারে না সব সময়।

ওই তথাকথিত উন্নয়ন কার্যক্রম সব জায়গায় চলতে থাকলে রাস্তা গড়ার হিড়িকে অদূর ভবিষ্যতে পাহাড়ে প্র্যাকটিস গ্রাউন্ড বলে আর কিছু থাকবে না। এমনিতেই নিরাপত্তার কারণে দেশের পার্বত্য অঞ্চলের বেশির ভাগ জায়গাতেই আজকাল ট্রেক করার সুযোগ সীমিত। নেপাল যোগাযোগব্যবস্থার সুবিধার জন্য কিছু ট্রেকে রাস্তা তৈরি করলেও দূষণের হাত থেকে রক্ষার জন্য বেশ কিছু ট্রেকে ক্যাটারপিলারের বিষদাঁত বসাতে দেয়নি। সেগুলো এখনো বিশ্বজোড়া অ্যাডভেঞ্চারপ্রেমীদের পছন্দের তালিকায় শীর্ষ সারিতেই থাকে। শিল্প হিসেবে পর্যটন বহুমুখী একটি শিল্প। এই শিল্পের বহুমুখিতা নিজেদের সামগ্রিক উন্নয়নের পক্ষে আনাই হোক অ্যাডভেঞ্চার ট্যুরিজমের লক্ষ্য।
