The six electronic gates (e-gates) for automated border check at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport are slated to become live in June, nearly a year after its inauguration.

E-passports include a microprocessor chip that stores the holder's information. After scanning the e-passport, the e-gates will identify flying travelers. Furthermore, during the verification of travel documents, the method assures a high level of security.
