I just spoke with Prottoy’s father over the phone. With a heavy heart, I assured him that the Bangladeshi community stands beside them—we will do everything in our power to bring Prottoy back to his mother’s embrace, to his final resting place in the land he called home.

It is utterly heartbreaking to lose such a young soul—Prottoy was only 20, with dreams full of promise. He had just begun his journey in Adelaide as a first-year student in Computer Science, arriving only in February, full of hope for a bright future in Australia. That dream has now been silenced far too soon.

May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah and give strength to his grieving family.
